61/66 rear backing plates

Are all the same ?, Well NOT here is what we found, went looking for a set for a 66, well has to go by the Vin# so after searches had to be 66/67 trucks, then found that 61/63 backing plate is different from 64/ early 66,, Why in the wide world of slick trucks be different since the brake shoes are the same from 48/67, brake drums same from 48/67, rear axles from 57/66 on the 9'' rear end so why, Ford please tell me

Well after many sets on the shelf wire brushing down ID numbers still no 66/67 till went through the woods till and got one off the 67 and found the answer, on backing plate the 64/early 66 has no hole at the axle side so the early has 5 holes and late 66/67 has 4 holes on the mounting area on the rear end section One of Ford's better ideas

When looking at the backing plate on the back side the ID# and R or L is on the opposite side of the Ford oval circle

Keep forgetting to call you,have a friend with a 65 F-100 he needs a set of window regulators and a set of door release mechanism’s both doors on his truck are stripped out and won’t hold a window handle or door handle......let me know what you’ve got....
