swap 429 into 64

Post by gumshoe »

I have a 429 complete with C6. I was thinking of installing into my 64 F100 as the 292 has seen better days. anyone done this? the 429 weighs about 100 lbs. more then the 292 and about six inches longer. might be a tight fit. any info would help. Thanks

It's been done, but on the straight axle slicks, there are no later model factory parts to bolt it into your chassis (twin I beam slicks can use Dentside engine mounts), however, the aftermarket has been building a weld in crossmember for years to bolt 429/460 into the straight axle trucks.

and if needed, I believe they also have a transmission crossmember, but I'm sure you have google:)
