aluminium dome lamp trim...

Post by ezernut9mm »

...i didn't put this in the "parts for sale" section because i thought it would get more attention here.

there is a guy (ranchero50) over on the fordification site that is making aluminium dome lamp bezels and lexan inserts for the 67/72 trucks. i know that al least the 64 to 66's use the same part. they are very high quality pieces. i bought one for my 68. fit and finish are both excellent. price is right too. here are a couple of pics and a link to the thread:

Frank, what I did on Fordification is use the replies to the original thread as a list to make offers off of. Basically as I got the batches of parts complete I went down the list and PM'd guys in the order of reply. The PM subject has the offer number in it and it's really working well to keep things organized.

This is the basic offer form:

Subject: Dome lamp bezel #26

MadMaxetc, you have recieved this email because you made a reply to the thread on the dome lamp bezels I made on Fordification.com. You're 26th on the list for the bezels and they'll be ready to ship December 19th.

Price is based on money transfer style because Paypal charges me for money transfers... All I ask is you cover the fee for the priviledge of using paypal.

$26 for one, $50 for two = Paypal instant transfers or bank transfer E-checks
$25 for one, $48 for two = Regular Check or Money order through the mail.

Payment via Paypal, Check or Money Order. If using a bank account through Paypal, a Check or Money Order, they'll have to clear before shipping. Please don't send cash.

Paypal account is: Ranchero50@yahoo.com

If you are going to mail payment, mark the envelope as follows so I don't end up throwing it away (Yes, It happened):

James Sollenberger
810 Chestnut St
Hagerstown MD 21740
Attn: Dome lamp bezels

Please reply to this private message with the number of bezels you want, payment method and your home address so I can get the packages together. If you don't want one at this time please reply back so I can move on down the list of guys waiting.

Thanks,
Jamie

It's pretty basic, I make the bezels in batches of 25, I've made two batches so far. I kick a percentage of the profits back to the site as a donation after each batch sells. I'm doing this as a learning experience for machine work and a hobby. I hope to get a machine set up in my garage and start turning out parts like this part time but that's down the road a bit. I just made the first one for me to see if I could and was asked to make more. It's balooned up really quick.

Only thing I ask is for guys that want one to reply to this thread and I'll PM you once the next batch gets done in about two weeks. Please don't PM me, it get confusing and I'll just ask you to reply to the thread to get on the list.

Thanks,
Jamie

Oh yeah, as a quick intro, by best friend and I restored a shortbox '65 F100 back in highschool, 240 three speed with 4.10's. That was a fun little truck.

I am definitely interested in one. The after market plastic ones leave alot to be desired and cloud up so quickly.
Thanks Jamie.

WOAH! Those are some really good looking pieces!

I'd like a pair ( 2 ) if possible, when you get some. :hello:
I'll pay through Paypal.

Thanks for making these, by the way. Reading page one in the Fordification link, I can tell you were thinking you had created a monster with that thread. I'm glad you decided to make some available to us Ford freaks & that you've priced them very fairly, IMO.

I just bought 2 of these off of the Fordification site, one for each truck and I'm looking forward to getting them. I had previously bought a DC repro that I hadn't installed yet but I guess that's going on eBay now.

In all fairness, DC's repop pieces are $15, which isn't a bad price...however these custom pieces are just too cool & for a guy like me who won't be doing an original restoration, these are perfect! 8)

Slick, it's ironic you should mention DC's repro. I had ordered one from Cali mustang when they did the truck close out sale, but they were out so I took the remains of mine into work and cobbled out the first bezel.

lense/bezel

Post by Truckrat »

:thumright: Great lookin part. I also want a lense and bezel for my 65. Nothing there now but the hole. I'm going to have to find the reflector/bulb socket assembly somewhere now. Anyone have an extra? I can send a check or money order. TR
