A 6-71 or 4-71 GMC huffer from a Detroit can be adapted fairly easily. Plus have immense cool factor. 4-71s can be picked up fairly cheap now days. A 4-71 will force feed efficiently a 284 cubic inch motor.
They originally were hung sideways on the block on I4-71 and I6-71 Detroit's
A centrifugal can be added too as either a blow through or Dry with EFI.

With stock internals, you want to stick with about 4.5 psi boost. Check out the Eaton m90 or m115 superchargers. They do not require any external oil supply and can be mounted in any position. They are cheap on ebay and originally came on some ford models so a belt system should be reasonably straight forward. The way I've got it figured it should be good for a 50-75 horse power gain. Check out the Eaton and Magna charger web sites.
