Spoke with Kevin from Roddoors over the last few days,

Rod doors moved from southern California lock stock and barrel and moved to the Carolinas. There up and running and want to do business with slicksters.

In fact need to buy a new headliner soon. I have Rod Doors products installed in "Christine" that some members drool over and can say there about the nicest thing out there so far. There working on some new product and most at SS08 looked at the rod doors dash insert installed in the Harley truck, and i heard drool dripping. Again a part made and patterned for a slicksters truck (chop).

The original uni big window headliners and panels were patterned off of Gregs uni (unibodyboy)

Yes its funny to B.S. and rib about, and yes it was bad from your point of view but flaying dead horses is only fun for a bit and then it sorta wears off.

most suppliers want me to pay their yearly salary when in fact most stuff can be shipped in the post office for far less.

so far thats 3 places.
one more i only bought from because i was at the store.
i really like the dash insert too but if shipping is other than USPS i wont even consider it.

When you say 'dash insert' are you all referring to the instrument cluster with the 6 gauges in it?

Does it come with hardware?

Does it have to be covered with something?

Any pictures?

Not to knock you Garbz, but it only takes one "ahh shts" to void a bunch of "good experinces". I had not seen Johns thread until this post, but I am glad I did so as to avoid the same BS if I do buy from this guy. I find Johns post helpful to an extent, but it won't completely deter me. Just make me pay better attention.

Here is a pic of the dash insert in the Harley 66 Dave mentioned. It looked even better up close.
I can vouch at least for the quality of Roddoors stuff, I have the door panels here but I purchased them from another member.

Hey Dave, thanks for mentioning this. I took a look at the link posted in the links section and noticed they also have interior products for my studebaker, will the 10 % apply for that as well? I need to figure out something for my visors in the 64 and the stude needs a new headliner, (@ 245 bucks its a spendy bugger too)

Crap they only show visors for the studebakr and 200 bucks, so I guess thats out of the question and no pic of the slick headliner ,or if visors are available on the website

I was going to wait to make it a surprise, but I have just recently finished getting all the rod doors stuff installed in my pickup. I'll put pictures up soon. , but it looks great! They molded both my truck and a member of my families, and I have nothing but good things to say about their company as a whole and will support them in the future.

Making one on your own for about 20 bucks Priceless

Seriously guys it is a election year. And those big plastic corragated signs make the perfect headliner. I got a couple of those 4x6 signs just for taking them off. I then laid out a old headliner on top and traced it. It was easy to cut out and then I just covered it with a suede cloth I got for about 15 bucks. I covered each piece seperately and attached it with the original screws. 2 hours of work. It has been up there around 3 years and no problems. As far as roddoors goes they should just sell to the suppliers and let them ship them out. Sure they would get less but may actually sell more. I wonder how many sells they lost out on because of the way they did JC? Are they a bad company? Probably not ,someone there just forgot a big rule in business,the customer is always right. If you can afford to pay $$$$$$$ for the new dash and other items consider yourself lucky and do it. But the way the cost of everything has went up over the last few years you may want to make your own. With recovering the door panels,door pockets, dash and the headliner I bet I have less than 100 bucks in all that stuff. So remember that you can do it yourself and save the bucks.

All it takes is a PM to Kevin and ask.

As for it being expansive, i dont think the product was produced with you or most home budget builders in mind Willy. Its is made for persons that want exceptional well fitting quality and are willing to pay for it, Seeing as the typical custom interior for a pickup can run about ten grand, and even higher on the really high end trucks and cars.

Most thought i was absoutly nuts when i dropped a grand on one of the first interiors they made.

lol I made my hedliner too, but wont work the same in the studebaker as it did in the slick, but I might try your idea with that plastic. or do something else. I really just need a better idea for my visors, I didnt think sun visors would be so expensive

Does anyone have pictures of Roddoor products installed in their Slick? When I get to that point in my rebuild I’m going to use all their parts (headliner, gas tank panel, and door panels). I like that they have moved to NC so I’ll drive down and pick them and make sure everything is good.

I wish Kevin had made some sort of comment or apology about JC’s claims. I know you can’t please everyone in business, but it doesn’t look they tried in his case.

You can check out my album pics of the interior of MaeBell . I used the Roddoors interior and a seat out of a 96 F250. I worked with the folks there at Roddoors and came up with a custom dash insert that covers all the switch holes. You can see that in my album as well.
Haven't been on in a loooong time, I had to deal with Parental health issues.
