Okay, I guess I'm looking for a parts truck again. Had one lined up when I started this thread but can't seem to get in touch with the guy anymore.
So, I'm looking for a shortbed slick to use for parts. Cab mounts, floors, hood and roof can be trash but need everything else to be usable.
Hoping to find a complete truck...anyone?
I'm gonna post this over in the wanted section as well.

Looks a fairly tough Trailer Park where the owner lives!, plenty of bits to be had on her! or save her!

Haha. Actually this was part of a "collection" up for auction as the owner had recently deceased. I'm sure someday I'll leave behind a "collection" as well.
I'm gonna strip off what is left and donate it to my crewcab. Gotta get this thing going, lack of parts = lack of progress.

Finally dragged the parts truck home...what a weekend that turned out to be.
I wish I had a video of these two guys dragging this thing bouncing down a hill in a field and slinging mud all over the place. It was the funniest sh!t I've seen in a long time and I could swear I heard banjos playing the whole time.
Made a little progress tearing parts off today. Rusty bolts = slow progress.

Okay, parts truck is stripped and gone. Got a decent front clip and some patch panels off of it.
I kept the 9 inch rear and leaf springs with shackles out of it.
I was planning on using an explorer rear with disc brakes and a bar suspension setup...what do you all think?
I'll post a poll on this in truck talk.
Edit: Here is the link to the poll http://fordtruk.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10381

Update:
Got a short bed (finally). Bed floor is pretty bad at the front.
Hurt my back and was down and out for a while.
Went to look at a 79 F150 longbed supercab ranger as I decided it would be a better frame for my crew.
The 79 looked to good to part out so I gave the man his asking price ($350) and drove it home
The 79 is now my main truck for the time being...I should post pics.

Got a crazy idea to see what a crew would look like as a 60's SUV or suburban. Started with a photoshop that has quickly progressed into something that looks pretty cool...good discussion thread here:

Had to rebuild my cab dolly to accomodate the frame and bed for now. Needed to be able to roll it out of the way so a little "dentside madness" could happen.
The red one is my brother in law's truck....rusty!
The blue one is the one I scored (stole) not too long ago.
Nose to Nose:
My driveway currently has a bunch of good old ford stell in it!
My Boy is already interested in driving old ford trucks!
