Slick 60's

I've got a '65 F100 and I want to find a seat that has seat belts integrated into the seat. I'm going to remove the tank. Is there a seat that will bolt in, or do I have to make some brackets?
This truck is my daily driver and I think about that hard metal dash every time I get in.
So guys, what year and model truck am I searching for?

I wouldnt think fabricating some seatbelt mounts should be too hard with the seats you have. My '62 had them put in before I bought it, I'd have to look at how theyre mounted though.

If nothing else you might be able to just find some seatbelts in a junkyard, make sure theyre long enough, and mount them to to seat mounting bolts. It would have to be the lapbelt only though, you'd have to fabricate something special to have the shoulder too.

If I remember right...Garbz has them in the front of the srew cab.

He had to fabricate the mounts, and the seat mounts changed the the late 90's so like 96-up?

Well I was going to put a link to the screw pics on the MAC site, but Garbz must have emptied it out.

all 3 of my 66's had the mounting bolts in the floor behind the seat for lap belts. any ole belt with the right size hole and length should work

all of the 65 and 66s have the seat belt holes already installed.they either have a rubber plug or goo in the threads.7/16 fine thread.

He is talking about a seat from newer trucks that have the sholder belt intigated up by the headrest.

I am still looking for the year and some pictures...I know I have them some place.

I forget who, but some member here put shoulder belts in his slick. He said that he mounted them to the cab corner braces & used fat washers on the back side, so they wouldn't pull through upon impact.

I'm more interested in putting newer F150 seats in my slick as well. Seats from an F150 Supercab would work best since they have the integrated belts. I don't think our slicks are wide enough to accept seats from a Superduty.

I know what you talking about the Dallas traffic. I drive to the DFW aiport for work. I have looked for seats as you are. I found a leather second row seat from a (forgive me) Suburban. Fits real nice and installed aftermarket 3 point seatbelts. Did have to build brackets but very happy with the seats.

I found the seats at the Pate swap meet Texas Motor Speedway in April. Great source for parts.

Here are the late model F150 seats in my 06. The shoulder belt comes out of the small pod next to the head reast. They even have heaters in them, works great any time of year if your back is sore. The only thing is, you can turn the bottoms on only or the bottom and back, but not just the back.

I'm putting Jeep Wrangler shoulder/lap belts in my '64. I have a '98 Wrangler and noticed one day that the retraction unit is pretty small and condensed and would fit perfectly right on the floor next to the seat by each door.

Will definitely have to beef up the shoulder loop in the cab corner. I don't trust those spot welds.

Well my fake front tooth says that I WILL have a sholder belt in my 63 when it is done...oh and I need one when I go to that track as well.

I am looking to install seats with the integrated seat belts as well. Check out the Fordification web site and look under Technical Papers. There is some good info and pics of different seats. I have been looking at ebay and there are many companies that have seats with integrated belts. Ford 2005 trucks and SUV models (maybe other years also) and many GM products to include cadillac, pontiac, buick, etc. I know it's a Ford sin to put GM parts into it but if it works and it's affordable for something like this then so be it. Of course I would never put another brand engine or drivetrain in my 66 Slick!! Let us know what you do!!
