Iceman I don't know much about 61 but where is the differants in the roof it looks like my 63 cab but I can't see the heater ducts I can see it did have a three speed on the column and the igntion switch has been changed looks like a good hack job :!: with a fresh coat of paint and new tires and rims :!:

I'm guessing that's a '63 cab, isn't that when they went with the taller roof?

Looks like the right fender's from a 65/55, complete with I-beam badge.

I was thinking the same thing, the only water is on the truck and the driveway, makes it look shiney

64 is the first year for the higher roof line. 61 to 63 shared the unis top stamping.

Mix and match of parts for an unmolested truck.

  1. It is a 65-66 cab. Roof line is wrong and the floor is to low. (no step)
  2. Two sets of emblems on the pasenger side (61 hood spears and 65-66 twin I badges)
  3. 225?? That is close to a 223...right? :) :)
  4. Painted in 1998 and 1000miles and the paint is shot? Not much confidence in whatever else he did.

$1k to $2k is my max on that one. To much rust for any more than that.

I was thinking 65/66 too, at first. Then I noticed the 61-64 style steering column. It's hard to see from the pics if it's got a step or not.

I'm going with a '64 cab, with wrong grille, fender & title. :D

And yeah Jimbob, he should have turned on the Christmas lights.

you can see just a part of the inside step in the 13th pic. i did not know that 61/63 had a different roof line than the 64/up. learn something new every day.

I love the "pick apart the Ebay slick" threads! I guess I'm the only one that caught the trailer tailights from Walmart. Isn't that the wrong tailgate (fatfender) too? :rotflmao:

i suppose we could pick on my truck but i never said it was original.
not selling it either.
i used a 66 f250 4x4 frame with the stock running gear
i installed a 292 and 4 speed from a 63
i used a 63 cab, correct except the roof ,and bed also correct and the incorrect little fenders.
a 62 grille, i got a deal on a nos one.
bucket seats, passenger side came from bronco and flips over.

I think most of us pick apart these trucks solely based on the ridiculous claims of the seller. "Original" is not a term that is really open to interpretation so when a guy claims a truck is original and it obviously isn't then he is painting a target on his forhead. If this guy had said it had been modified to suit the owners taste we probably would be split with half the guys saying cool and half saying yuck. Personally I think it is a nice potential driver but the sellers obvious lack of integrity would stop me from even considering it. Hawkrod

I agree, if the seller uses the term "original" to describe an old vehicle, then that definitely makes it open season for scrutiny. :D

Besides, it's fun nit-picking stuff on eGouge.

If the seller is not flat out lying, or selling thru a "second party" who is flat out lying, as we seem to be seeing more of lately, the Ebay guys go through me without a nasty review..., check out the "captain happy drag racing" thread.

But these total yahoos claming bucketless 'Rangers' or F10 Vin'ed 4x4's or original 428's,or, in this case, a truck that was probably rolled and rebuilt from parts of 16 other junk-yard trucks and clamed to be unmolested... well it's open season on those guys IMO.

There might have been one born every minute according to PT Barnum,,, I do my best to keep it from being MY minute.

The thing that stands out the most to me is that horrible sliding rear window! Looks like an 80's Chebby piece.
