Re: Ignition switch removal
Finally got the ignition switch out. The truck is 4 hours away, so I only see it once a month or so. The replacement has 4 posts; IGN, BAT, ACC, and centre post ST. The original has about 4 wire to a cetre post and three that come out of the side. Not sure how the hook up the new one?

Re: Ignition switch removal
So I removed the door lock and got a key cut. Unfortunately the ignition tumbler was so worn as was the old key that the new key would not work. Decided to drill out the cylinder and replaced it. Must have damaged the switch because the cylinder turns too easy and the starter does not operate. So I ...

Ignition switch removal
Lost find my keys, so I ordered a new ignition cylinder with keys. Can't figure out how to remove the old one (think I need a key to do that). So tried to remove the whole ignition switch, but having trouble with that too. The switch seems to be held in by a spring, so I pushed in to compress it but...

Door panel clips
I bought some new door panels for my 66 and need some of the clips that holds the trim in place. Any ideas out there?

I just had a similar problem yesterday. I was driving along and the motor dies, and will not restart. After about 40 minutes, it fired right up. I am suspecting that the coil should be replaced, but at the same time I wonder about fuel delivery. I removed the air cleaner and pumped the accelerator a...

Nice Skick!
I have heard it said that one slick is not enough and I am beginning to undserstand that. I saw that ad and told my wife that I would love to own it. She asked me if I would be selling my 66M100, and I replied "WHY"? That pretty much ended my chances of having another slick, but not the dr...

Re: 352 engine component colors
Can someone tell me where I can find the correct factory colors for my '66 352 engine? I need to know the component colors like: water pump brackets pulleys 3-speed manual tranny case etc. thanks, Casey I have an original 352 in my 66. Water pump has been replaced but I think the original was Ford ...

Re: Manual transmission - oil or gear lube?
Hi, I am working on a '66 longbed with the Warner T-18 four speed. AFAIK this has never been worked on. I plan to drain about a quart of oil out, then refill it with kerosene. Then you jack up (and securely block) the back end, pull the wheels off, and then run through the gears. This is supposed t...

Went for $31,900. A real bargain for a deep pocket collector. If you tried to have your slick restored to the condition of the one at B-J with nos oem parts you would soon see that an original very very low milage truck at 31,900 was a bargain. Also don't forget that it is a museum piece that will ...

Good argument. I respect a well stated and researched opinion. :) Lastly, the OP said his possible donor carb was from a late 70s truck. Would you bother using it? I wouldn't. I think the aftermarket alternatives would be vastly superior. Plus, oem carbs generally offer limited tuning capabilities....

4V carb/intake for 352
I came across a 390 4V (from a late 70's truck) for $250. I am considering buying it for the manifold and carb to swap for the 2V on my 1966 "352" as a low budget performance upgrade.
Will this be worth the effort, or do I need to spend some $ on aftermarket carb and manifold?

I guess I best go look at this donor truck, I have only spoken to the owner on the phone. I was surprised when he said no disc brakes, but maybe he thought I meant PB. All the better, as I was waffling on this donor because I thought I should be able to find a PS and disc brake equiped truck. Gonna ...

Thanks, that is a great list. The donor I am looking at has PS but not disc brakes (still looking for power/disc donor). The donor has a 351/auto, while I have a FE block, so brackets will be wrong. But I can have whatever steering parts I want from the donor for only $40, or may buy the whole thing...

power steering conversion on a 66
I have found a 77 F100 truck for parts. From what I have read, this year of truck would be a good donor for a PS upgrade. I am not sure if I will need to swap the steering column or shorten mine. I think I read that since I have a 4 speed(granny), my column may be the right length. Can any one confi...
