Can't see many other reasons to want one after that
stop raining on my parade jc, this is my dream car! lol. i will admit that they are way over engineered and very costly to own.
i wouldn't be surprised if the resto on the above car was at or near 100k. the seller will loose his ass on it period.

Chris I helped restore one of these when I first got out of high school. Talk about a BIG car the quarter panel was over 8' long total length was more than a 70 pickup.

Those have FoMoCos 462 Slug engine with a big hydraulic pump hiding the timing cover. That pump runs windows, powersteering, wipers, seats & who knows what else. . . . Can you say Nightmare? Also that red ride approaches 3 tons (nearly 6,ooo lbs of mass) & has the most or almost the most expensive brakes in the world to replace parts on.
Beautiful cars. My favorite is the 56. All hand crafted back in the day. They were going for $10,000.00 a copy in 56. Most of the major Hollywood stars had to have one.

actually, being a 63 it should be a 430. yes they are heavy. if i recall lincoln had to design special wheels for them.
i had a 65 sedan and it was a blast to drive.
i had to do some brake work (new proportion valve and calipers) and those parts were in line with any other car or truck.
i would own another one, but i would like to be more financially stable because i know they can be expensive to work on.
i still love them though.

The power steering pump was hid behind the harmonic balancer and was very hard to see. It powered the hydro vac brakes, wipers and the power steering. The windows and seats were electric, as was the top operation. The top was powered by five electric motors with two of the electric motors driving two hydrolic pumps mounted in the trunk. One for operating the top up and down and the other for opening and closing the trunk. I owned a beautiful original 42,000 mile 67 convertible that won a first place in just about every show it went in. I was also a pretty fair hand at reparing the electrical systems on them.

Hey since you guys are into big ugly tubs that weigh 3+ tons, maybe you can sign up to pick up some of this co's inventory, as it ages http://www.phatcatlimousine.com/index.php
I am sure they get about the same gallons per mile, too.
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..
