CJ trans

Post by bluebolt »

[quote="BackyardResto"]only unfortunate thing on trans was someone used a bottle jack on front and popped a hole in it. Extra trans case I took out a piece and welded in. I think it looks ok. Cobra Jet transmissions untouched are getting hard to come by these days. It was a fun fix too

I found a 428CJ trans just sitting there in the junkyard in Merced California area about 20 years ago. Had R servo and and cast iron tailhousing. Paid $125 for it as I remember sold it for $500. Also found a set of 428CJ "Snake" valve covers with the raised snake and lettering on a 67ish Galaxie with a 390 2 barrel. Bought for $35, sold for $400ish on Ebay.

This week has been pretty much all P/S projects. Long process doing everything myself.

How about some pics of your 66? We spoke some years ago about 427 Comet stuff.

Randy, that truck is looking great, you sure do good work. Tour of the house was good but needed more pics of the shop LOL. Keep the pic coming, I can't wait to get back to work on my truck soon.

I guess Randy is going to take his ball and go home. Even thought he has a GREAT rebuild going, it's his loose NOT ours.

Hey Donnie...if I remember right, I think he is in the process of moving so he probably has not had much time to work on his truck let alone post on this site.
