its been awhile but 2 freinds came by today and we hit it hard, The trans and drive line are in, the rear springs got a couple leaves pulled out, got the intake and exhaust all mounted. Got all the front end tightened up,Got the box set on, test fired the engine and it ran but forgot the fitting where the oil presseure sender goes and it started puking oil so we stopped but it did fire and run for a few seconds, got the one wire alt mounted and bracket finished, gonna work on the front clip this week and these guys are going to come back and we will put the wiring harness in it so it will be driveable by SlickStock but not sure if I will have the money to put the windshield in it or new tires on it so it might show up on a trailer. I will roll it back outside and take some pics tomorrow.................Kid

would be nice if I could find the dang radiator. I found 2 of them here and neither one is the correct one. I got a few things to do and if I can figure out where the radiator went I will be able to run it a litle bit more. I need to hook the clutch linkages up after I wire wheel them a little then get the front clip alighned and then the wiring and it will be able to move under its own power..............Kid

found a radiator, well Matt found one in his garage and we don't know for sure where it came from but it fits in my truck and works. Tried to keep it running today but think the fuel pump might be out of it so when I get the fuel figured out and the clutch linkages put in I can then move it under its ouwn power. Next big thing will be the wiring, I bought an E-Z wire kit a few years ago so we are going to put that in it. I am pretty stoked again tonite as it WILL be at SlickStock, it might not have a windshield but it will be there to show off.

got a guy to cut the windshield for me and he told me he would let me watch him do it so I would have an idea on how it is done. Had the engine running and it sounds pretty good, carries about 45lbs oil pressure at idle. need to tackle the wiring next, I bought a E-Z wire kit a few years ago and will be using that. Got the linkages for the clutch all hooked up and now just need to adjust it and after I do a little wiring I will be able to move it under its own power...............

NOW I see why you chopped the top...............
you built the garage --around-- the truck and then realized that you couldn't get it out thru the door.

Oh yeah, I tried that no sending unit in the side of the block trick once. Makes for some quick responses.

got a template made tonite so I can get the windshield marked and dropped off next week to get it cut. I found another windshield so I might see if I can cut one myself just to see what happens.

can't wait to see how this will work out for you... If I was cutting it myself, I have all the confidence in the world that I'd screw it up and break it...  (just the way my luck runs) progress is always good.... none of the glass shops will even come to my house to put mine in because it is a curved glass.. they want me to bring it into the shop then they say they wont be responsible for it if they break it.....

A friend of mine has cut several down by taping out the wanted portion with several layers of duct tape and then using a sand blaster to blast away the unwanted portion. He's always had good success with this approach. Red
