have to thank momma for making me what i am
dad taught me alot. mechanicaly
but mom wasnt scared to tear into something & try to fix it
even though she had no idea what she was doing some of the time.
i bet alot of other "slick fans" had the same experiance. :)

Happy Mother's day. Stopped at Mom & Dad's today had lunch & dinner with them. My sister brought Pasty's & I got the desert. Then I made supper.

For those that don't know what a Pasty is check this out.

My mom was mad at me for most of my childhood because I was a daddy's girl. For some reason unbeknown to me she thought I should be in the house helping her cook and clean while I was out side with my dad under one of his hot rods learning how to mechanic. Truth beknown we are actually very close as my dad died nineteen years ago and she now lives with me. At 87 her health is not the best and she has a bad ticker, but I very much love her and do as much for her as possible. I am taking her out to eat tomorrow after church. I would have cooked for her but I never learned how, always under cars, remember.

Slick, I can see from your avitar that you were a very cute kid back in the day, your ears were a little big but still very cute.

You too, huh? :)
My adoptive Mom did her fair share and beyond of towing dead cars and helping bleed brakes when I was a teen. I have to remind myself that such behavior isn't 'normal' for most Moms and their sons.
Birth Mom is a wonderful lady as well, glad I found her again. We live different lives so sometimes it's hard to carry on much of a conversation but there's still a huge bond there despite 30 odd years of separation.
Not mine, but this pretty much is what childhood was like for me. :D

I'll head to my Moms this evening and probably take her a hanging basket and put up a new dusk to dawn light for her. My Mom was always there for me then and now. No matter how scatter brained she acts, She will always be MY Mom and I love her that way.... And to my Wife who lets me drag these dead trucks home to bring back to life... I love her with all my heart for understanding my addiction and giving me 2 Wonderful young-uns...
