Found this truck on craigslist, it isn't mine...and I'm not trying to promote the sale that is why I'm not posting in classifieds.....I am just curious on what members here would offer for the truck in the condition it's in

Not being able to truely see how much rust or what the inside looks like leave's me some questions but I'd agree with what has been said. $500

I paid $500 for my "parts truck", here in Tucson, about 2 years ago.
My truck appears to be in better shape than that

I have to agree, I would offer 200 because this thing looks like a heap that would take a couple thousand just to make it road worthy. If what you can see looks like this, I can only imagine what the rest is like.

The seller claims to have sold 11 other slicks in the same condition for 2500, I told him he must be the best salesman in the world :)

This is what he wrote me after I offered 200 and explained my offer.

"WELL ITS APPARENT YOU DONT KNOW YOUR ASS FROM A HOLE IN THE GROUND THIS WILL BE THE 11TH ONE IVE SOLD IN SIMILER CONDITION FOR THE SAME PRICE SO BOTHER SOMEONE ELSE NIMROD"

I agree with Skip. Doesn't look worth the hassle. Unless something I can't see appeals to others. If it was me I'd stay away.

Definitely not what they are asking for, in that condition.

But who knows, maybe a water hose, air in the tires and if it fires up on the first crank........

Nah, still wouldnt pay near that.

Brandon just goes to show classic cars is worth lots O money . Theres a guy here trying to sell a crapped out uni for $1500.00 on Craigs I havent called him yet to see what he will really take . Honestly all I want is the tailgate but would go $500.00 for the whole Uni. That later Longbed on the other hand not a dime over $300.00 and honestly I dont even think I would bother ( I prefer Uni's :D).

I agree with you Rick, I'm not looking to buy because I have a 65 that I am working on now, but I like cruising the classifieds looking for slicks. It amazes me the prices people want for junk, I just thought I would share this one with everyone since it was so outrageous.

I gave $700 for my Frankenstein 4x4.. and drove it home.... a whole lot of rust but around here... rust is normal...
Image

and I gave $300 for my parts slick... needed alot of cab work but not near what the other did....
Image

prices vary by area and around here... any truck running no matter what the shape is $1000... the truck pictured doesn't seem to have a lot of rust through although it has a lot of surface rust... I would have took that over my rot... around me that truck is an easy $1500-$2000.... I looked at a '63 today that had new paint to had all the bad.. core support was fixed with pop rivets and tin, the lower sections on both sides. cab corners were full of bondo, the steps were rusted through, no alternator or battery, patches in the floor boards, no breather on the carb, new tail lights but not wired up, ply wood in the bed... and so on... told me $1800 would buy it... said it seemed to run good when you got it going???? did I mention the caddy wire wheel covers???

I would think in AZ you should be able to find better but where I'm at... It could be worse... just my :2cents:
