read an article saying pre '71 engines need the stuff. They had some at the auto parts store, but the guy said it was week and that I should try to find it on the web. Any thoughts, advice, brand names etc.....?

I've had not yet had any issues with the ethanol blended fuel but other people have so it doesn't mean you won't. If you don't need high octane, don't pay for it. But I assume that since you brought it up in a post also about ethanol that you've heard high octane has no ethanol. Check with your state/local regulations. This is not true everywhere.Insomniac wrote:I'm also curious to hear y'alls opinions about how crucial it is to avoid ethanol gas or use high octane and so on and so forth.....
