Post by good2bea9 »

My truck is almost done and I need a front frame for the wing window if anyone has one! I have the rubber for the track but misplaced the front track. Any help would be appreciated. I am in Yuma Az and my e-mail is good2bea9@yahoo.com. Thanks to you all. I am attempting to include a pic. but not able to figure this one out. Any hep there is appreciated too.

Man, that previous owner wasn't kidding about that truck being rust free!! Other than a little wear, it looks good as new.

Some years had it under the floor. some in the engine bay on the fender and some on the firewall.

4X4's had the battery under the floor don't know why. I owned a 61 F100 Unibody that also had it there but wasn't a 4X4. It was made Sept. of 1960. Don't know if they still had the battery under the floor on 65&66 4X4's but 61-64's that I saw all did.

Unibodyguy... interesting that your uni had it under the floor on an early version. Must have been an early design change.

to my knowledge, and someone WILL correct me if I am wrong LOL

ALL 4x4's 61-65 had the battery in the floor. Exception for the 66 F100 4x i believe.

All Big trucks F350 and bigger 61-66 the battery is in the floor

the '65 and '66 f100 and f250 non 4x4 have the battery on the
Rad support.

All others have the battery up against the firewall .

I think this was done, because people were actually SHORTER 2 generations ago. It was a long reach up to those taller machines to haul a battery.
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..

Johnny, another wierd thing about the same truck, it also had a round dial radio in it like a 57-60, and a hydo. clutch in it, must of been because of the change over time. I have a picture somewhere of the radio in the dash.

I recently picked up a 3/4 ton big window uni with the battery box in the floor also.... Surprised me at first!
