How bad is this on my 65 F100 swb stepside

65 f100 swb step side with 240 cid and 4 spd warner T-18

Hopefully you can see the degree of how the rear end and the front I beam is bent. I feel like i can fix the rear end with a little heat and pressure but i'm not sure if i should try this on the I beam. I'm not sure if this is damage on the I beam or was an alignment issue. The other I beam looks great. Looked at the past treads and didn't see any pictures to help me out.

The frame has a slight buckle to it that i've had a frame shop look at. They are going to fix it when i get the truck rebuilt so that we can get weight on the frame.

As always your help is greatly appreciated.

Going with a stock setup on the truck and cliffords 6=8 on the engine. cam, intake and headers. I'm also going to put a flame kit on the exhaust to please my son

I think you could"adjust" the I beam, but why bother? These are available in junk yards all over the country. Rear end is toast in my opinion. You should be able to replace both of these damaged items for less than 100.00 bucks.

As above, that rear end is scrap iron. The I beam can be fixed, but then again, why bother? They are available all over and cheap. Take jkimbrel's offer and go get 'em!
Nice lil' truck, by the way!

I agree with the rest , why bother when you can replace for little money. The rearend can be fixed, but you really need to cut and replace the ben tube, which means you need a jig to do the job easily. This is time consuming and requires welding skills and welder plus cutting tools. Rearends are fairly cheap in most places. Usually about 125 with everything brake drums and all. You may even want a rear gear change for better mileage etc. etc. . However a housing should not cost over 50$ . since you have someone willing to help you out on that I suggest you accept his offer.Besides, gives you a chance to visit with another member.

Wow.
I don't know what the PO hit with that truck, but if you hit something hard enough to bend a rear axle housing like that, you need to measure and triangulate the frame and make sure its square too before you spend a lot of money.
A truck frame shop can line it back up it it is bent.
But be sure to check it.
I'm not arguing with you. I'm just explaining why I'm right.
Pardon me. Does your deaug bite?

need not have hit anything to bend the rear axle.
overweight and the right bump on the road is all it needs.
or possibly judging from the front end also being damaged some off roading was done.

have also seen trucks that got stuck in mud/snow and then clueless individuals put a chain around the i beam and pull

neither are worth attempting to repair as was stated above

Mike is a great guy, take his offer. having met him a few times myself i definitely would not hesitate to visit if he was close by.

I see that you are in Springville, there is a 1964 short stepside at the pull-a-part in Birmingham. I was there back in February and it had the complete rearend in it. It is labeled in their inventory as a 1965 but it has a straight axle front end. http://www.pullapart.com/inventory/search.aspx

I-Beams are made with offset in them so they clear each other. I think that is what you are seeing there. The rear axle is garbage, though. I just paid a guy to haul off a 9" out of my 66... I have another one but you are a ways off. Now I think about it, there is a spare shortbed frame for a 66 that is in good shape back there. Would love to get rid of. It has I-beams on it also! Would like to trade it all for a good hood, but if you don;t have a hood just come get it.

True the Ibeams do have an offset, but that one looks to have an extra bend eight or nine inches from the original offset.
