Nice Recreation/clone ---but not a restoration for sure.

How much does he want for it? Sure he spent $50k, but it is only worth $15k...maybe $20k.

It does have nice points to it, don't get me wrong. I like it, but not all of it.

(Why do digital gages on a 60's era recreation...and wouldn't you want to use more period correct speed parts, or make them look like it? They do make black anodized hardware to make it blend in more, etc...)

That shifter mount is just ugly and I'm not a huge fan of the fuel cell mounted like that. Just me but I might prefer power brakes on a 50K car or truck. The rest of it looks pretty good. Build a fun truck and sell it with 100 miles on it :?: Is this a professional restoration shop flipping trucks week in and week out?

That's really sad. If you're going to do a "clone" DO IT RIGHT! Otherwise, why bother? It's not that hard to at least make a short uni look like the original XL-F100, but for $50,000 you could have a "true" 427 and all the other goodies that are on the original.

I dont think theres a member here with fifty grand in their truck and we have some killer trucks here that have been featured in Magazines . Merls Pro street truck , the Castruck of course and although I dont think Kevin has had any Magazine coverage yet its only a matter of time . Granted most of these trucks were built by the owners not " for " the owners .

I would love to do an XL clone but I would want to do it right and period correct even though I probably couldnt do the 427.

I read where the seller says they have 50K$ in it, but I don't see a sale price posted...?

As I recall, the original XL-100 also had a black vinyl top and a rear bumper....this 'clone' isn't even close in my book..... :steering:

I kinda like it. Sure its not the real deal, but your average person wouldn't know it.

I dunno, but whether it's true to the original or not, I think it's pretty cool someone even did this. Exterior paint & graphics alone are nice.
