What have you done to your slick today??
Re: What have you done to your slick today??
Got to use mine as it's supposed to be used for once; for hauling. Filled the bed up with concrete blocks and mortar. Weighed it down pretty good and it drove just fine.
Re: What have you done to your slick today??
Woke the 65 up from it winter sleep. Took it for a drive to the pull and save to scout for slicks with parts. Worked some more on the stock wrong bed rear bumper. Trying to massage out many many years of abuse. Got it all ground sanded and primed. Still not straight but it will do until a chrome repop comes along.

Re: What have you done to your slick today??
We have 2 pull and saves in the area. I checked the north one on Sunday. So Monday I had some errands to run and the trip took me by the valley Pull and Save. I found 3 of the innie 8 lug 16" wheels for $40. Just need 2 more and wheels will be in place for the 63. Anyone interested in the 17.5s I have for the 63 currently. Once I get 2 more of the 16s I will sell the 17.5s. Let me know.

Re: What have you done to your slick today??
managed to get some hardware to make my 63 aluminum grill useable. So when i go home ill be able to start polishing it up and see how i like it. Rain the past 2 days has stopped progress on my speaker boxes and headliner since i cant work in my garage.

Re: What have you done to your slick today??
Finished the inner bed bumpers for my flair side, got them mounted and removed them again for painting the box.
Put the bed box on my roll around dolly and started wet sanding to prep for paint.
Did I mention, this is the part I hate the most?
Probably not more than several hundred times.....

At least you haven't had to repeatedly sand off several hundred dollars of materials!

Centerline is at 6-1/2" above the floor. 8" was to much, 4 wasn't enough.
8-1/2?
Just right.

Made the change from 2wd to 4wd cab today. Cut the passanger floor and welded in the battery opening with cover so the battery now goes under the floorboard on the passanger side.

Started filling in the dash where a previous owner had cut the dash to install an aftermarket radio. Loacated more rust in the cab in the area of the drip rails.

dust control
cleaned and swept out all the dust and dirt in the cab
last time i drove it it seemed real doggy going uphill so i checked and reset the points and then checked the bodily fluids and blew out my air filter.

Worked some more on the FUBAR radio hole someone cut into the dash. Started blowing holes thru the thin sheet metal so stopped before things got out of hand. Ill try some more later today.

Fired up my 65 f250 after about 3 weeks. The snow was gone enough for me to get out of the yard to take it around the block to limber it up. Felt good to drive her again!!
Re: What have you done to your slick today??
Massaged the FUBAR radio hole some more. Its almost where I want it. When people cut those holes in this thin sheet metal they dont know how far out of whack they are making these dash boards. Painted the rear factory bumper silver. Im not sure I like it. It will definately be a 20ft bumper until a repop can be purchased..

Put in new ignition switch and fixed a few wires that had been hot in their past.
