I wanted to go real bad, but just couldn't swing it. Next year for sure. Any good stuff to be had? And who got the prize purchase?

Nice to see everyone and meet some new ones. Sorry to miss the cookout and the Saturday group picture, but after roaming 10,000 spaces for two days, my buddy and I were just too worn out. Thanks, Lyman. P.S. I did make it up to Slidell to visit the wacky relatives that my wife won,t visit. Verdict: They are still nuts and I don't blame my wife.

I can't believe it, I completely forgot about Pate being this weekend. Sunday was the third anniversary of the passing of my wife, I guess I had other things on my mind. That is what I get for not checking in more often. I'm sorry I missed y'all. I wanted to meet everyone this year.

grrsign.gif How soon good times are over! I had a blast at Pate again, and look forward to next year. The 57 made it home again, but is having "issues" in the tranny I think. At any rate, it was a fun time, and I look forward to next year. Thanks to Chris and Jennifer for hosting our Friday night shindig at their house. They really did it up right! Breakfast at the Snooty Pig might need to become a tradition as well as a trip over to Roanoke for Chicken at Babe's. I still have not been there for lunch as yet, but will on my next trip down. You Houston guys got my mouth waterin' for some of that chicken. And Max, your Jennifer is a keeper, too. Bring her back next year, ok. We had another great turnout, and my buddy Jon enjoyed himself too. Glad Lyman was able to make it this time, and Darren, and Skip's friends Jack and Roger.
Hope I am not forgetting anyone. And Neil! And the little guy with the great big hats. See all of you in KC. TR

I think most of us there seem to feel that this yearly get-together at Pate is a small sample of what Slickstock might be like and so the topic came up frequently.

Great seeing Skip, Tom, phRed, Roger, Chris, Gary, Lyman, Chad... and anyone I missed, plus their friends.

cheerleader.gif :hello:  Yeah, Max, I agree with you. Slick Stock will be a blast. I wish I had been to the first two of them, but didn't even know the Slick 60s existed in 04. My friend Dale Barrette from Wisconsin told me about it in September of 04. I am trying to get him to come to KC. His screen name was MR EFI. I don't know if any of you might remember him, but he has a 61 longbed Uni like Greg D and has a fuel injected Y-block in it with a 5-speed manual trans. He has had some hard times and doesn't get on the forum anymore. I hope his luck will turn around to the good so he can enjoy life a lot more. I will be looking forward to KC and Pate next year. See ya soon! TR

Dale was/is a cool guy. Fuel injected Y block. He even used to come in to chat once in a while. a great help that guy. Truckfarmer knows him, too.
I guess that proves out 6 degrees of separation.
It's a race.. Will hell freeze over or will JC finish his truck first. Stay tuned..
