Well I am new to here

Post by KrewlKab »

I live in Cheney Washington and have a 64 ford pu with Camaro frame clip, camaro rear, sbc/tb350, GM tilt column. I also have a 66 Crew Cab ( hence the name Krewl Kab) that I will be starting on most likely this winter. Plans for the Krewl Kab are Camaro clip, Stepped rear frame, Airbags, 61-3 Unibody bed grafted to make it a Uni-body, some kinda GM power in it and thinkin 250 chevy I6/5 speed. Other plans are 90s chevy pickup bench seats and full Kustom upholstery. I will get pics on here when I figure out how. Nice Crew Cabs on here and other trucks.

Fair warning: the Chevy drivetrain(s) will not earn you many friends here.
While we don't mind helping folks who buy trucks thus ruined, you aren't going to get warm fuzzies from the general population if you intend to put an inferior Brand X engine in your next project. With the plethora of good FoMoCo choices out there that simply bolt in, it just doesn't make sense to use engines with distributors at the wrong end.
Just sayin'. So long as you have thick skin, welcome. :)

My first slick had a 327 fuelie with a turbo 400. I've seen the light and stick to FE power.

Welcome but if you want small block power why not just go with a roller cam 302 & get better power and fuel mileage not to mention a generally better engine.

Hey, if you're running the sbc or bbc, i've got a aluminum dual cross flow 4 core radiator that is set up for your scheme. 1 1/2 up top, 2 inches on the bottum. You can see pictures of it in my album. I'm down in Pullman.

HAHAHAHAHAHA well let me start with this, I have thick skin and ive been building vehicles for many years. I have owned enough Ford powered fords to know their engines HATE me ( I mean even a 300 six HATES ME) so I go with what I like and dont give a rats you know what what others think, I build them to enjoy. I'm on here to enjoy the forum and the people. I guess I shouldnt tell some of the people on here about Toyota powered 33 ford pu? Oh well, I do it to enjoy not to upset the "purists" anyways, Thanks for the welcome and Shiny where ya at? Anyone want to get mad because I have an Olds engine in my 58 International? BWAHAHAHAHAHA

boy, you sure was subtle there JC. Jim has heard it all from me over the years, but he does have thick skin and knows im just joking about. He actually has built some really cool rides in the past. I sent him this way due to Shinys Crew cab project and they are in the same region.

Hehe, good comeback from you Krewlkab!

JC, wow you've mellowed out for sure

Eh Krewlkab, I'm on Vancouver Island, about 30 minutes north of Victoria in Shawnigan Lake. You should head up here on July 4th weekend, we put on a crazy hot rod weekender at my place, ten bands, burlesque shows, lotsa stuff to do.
I saw a pic of a car in my buddies Hotrodarama shots and in the background was a slammed Slick, maybe faded red. Was it yours?

Welcome aboard! :welcome:

I don't get why you'd go to all the bother to swap all that Chebby stuff into a Slick...if it were me, I'd probably just go buy a Chebby. :dontknow: To each his own, I suppose & at least the Slick isn't headed for the crusher. :)

Now show us some pics already!

I figured once Garbz accused me of running off El-P. I'd better lay off.
Plus I am not entirely convinced that this isn't southern Az trickery anyway. the heat gets to them guys

i expended far too much energy in my life complaining about stuff i have no hope of changing so i have to let it go.
as for your truck its not what i would do, not what i like but its yours, done for you ,by you ,the way you want.
if you are happy, thats all that matters.
