Steering colum question

Post by Mercules »

Is there a way to remove the steering colum with out cutting wires? I haven't looked real hard thought I would ask first.

Thanks

All of the column wires have bullet plugs that can be unplugged. You just have to make sure and label each one because they could easily be hooked back up wrong.

The connecters are actually set up in a pretty modern fashion -- you if you take it apart carfully and don't break it, no lableing required..... IF, you decide to replace the turn signal switch, you'll need a electrical connector assembly tool (you may laugh, but that's the name you can search for to find the tool!!!)

When putting it all back together, I cleaned the works up with electrical cleaner first and then used a q-tip to apply a little di-electric grease to the individual connectors inside the plug.

Perhaps power brakes, 300 I6 motor and JUST maybe, AC!
