Hi All,
I want to install an A/C in my slick.':help:' Being in Florida their are more HOT days then cold days. It has the 240 in it. And I was looking for anyone that might have A/C installed, that would have any photos of the engine or might know what kind of brackets I would need. Also where are the brackets installed on the engine':hm:'
Thanks
Richard
A/C install in my 66 with 240 6L I need help
Richard I was just thinking you might be able to find a later model truck
with a 300 six and see how its set up.
I picked up a 81 model that had AC on it a couple of years ago.
The pump and some brackets were in the floorboard so I don't know how it was mounted
but if you need some brackets I might have some or all that you would need if a 240 has the same mount points.
Good luck with it I would look into AC myself but it makes me sleepy to get cooled off on a hot day
with a 300 six and see how its set up.

The compressor goes above the alt. on the pasenger side. You have to thave the brackets fron a Dentside to use the old V-grove belts.
Or you could get the brackets and pullys from the 80s and go to surp. belt.
I would check on the 80s balancer to make sure it is nutraly balanced like your 240/300 is.
Sorry, I looked for pictures but couldn't find any.

Hmmm, I thought it was 80? Who knows.Ford4jack wrote:Good point on the serpentine belts Dan
But one thing I did notice was the 80 model engine I'm running and the 81 parts truck
both had v belts on them so I wonder when they swapped over.
Here is that Picture I was looking for...

Richard,
If you're wanting to go with a stock set up click on my profile and check out my engine pic...it has dealer installed A/C on the 240. I can take any photos of what you might want to see as far as brackets and such go...just might take me a bit to be able to resize the photos and get them posted.

That's what I needed. I thought that those bolt holes could be used for the
A/C. And Yes, if you get a chance please take a photo of the bottom of the bracket and adj. pulley Just put in you profile and I'll check them out or email them to richard@standardprecast.com
By the way that's a nice truck you have, I like the colors almost did mine the same but, Then I sent the gray and went that way
Thanks again
