Picked up a 2nd row seat out of a 2002 tahoe, they are really comfortable seats and the width is dead on...and it has a fold down console. Well it was way more work than I anticipated to get it to fit, and it isn't adjustable. But I'm 6'4" so no biggie just put it in as far back as possible. I had to basically hack up all the original brackets and then used square tubing to build a new lower frame. The original frame stuck out into the floor pan area and looked horrible. I also had to trim out part of the floor stamping...the middle bracket for the seat was sitting on the end of the "x" stamped in the floor...so I will have to do some minor sheetmetal patching to fix that. I will be removing the head rests as well. They don't look right and would hit the back window. Now it just needs cleaned up.

I can't decide if I'm gonna recover it or just have the color changed on it. The leather is in really good shape just needs re-dyed...I really want to go with a darker tan just not sure how dark yet.

The 65 is off to the body shop for body and paint...I had the bed, hood, fenders, doors and a couple smaller pieces media blasted last week to save time at the body shop. I also got the gas filler installed in the bed floor. Eta on body and paint is about 3 to 4 weeks, then it's a mad thrash for assembly to make Hot August Nights the last weekend of July and first week of August! Here are some pics

Your neighbors must be very tolerant. I like the boat gas filler

Yeah my neighbors are all pretty tolerant...but I'm sure they want it done just as fast as I do so the noise will stop haha

I wasn't sure how that second row tahoe seat would look. You sure made it look pretty sharp.. Gotta love that folding center console. Looks great!

Thanks! It's not the best fab job but it will do...final judgement will be after the new upholstery is on and it permanently in the truck!

You have gotten some major work done. I wish Ford would have put as much work in the bottom of the steel floors as we do when we rebuild them.

I always like the feeling of an adapter bracket that makes different parts line up perfect.

Can you tell me what type of media blaster that is you are using? Does it have water mixed in with it?

It was a dustless blaster they used. Not sure on the exact equipment. Garnet, and some sand was was used as the media mixed with water and a anti flash solution mixed with the water

Phil,
Get a hold of the body shop and let him know that he has the aluminum tubes put in wrong. The drivers side should have the knurled end down towards the front of the truck and the passenger side should be up towards the hood. If they aren't this way, when he puts the shocks on them, they will loosen the jam nuts and spin resulting in the shocks popping out of the sockets.
