One thing you need to know is the frame is going to be short for your truck. The CV/GM frame is 115 inches, and your wb is 117. You may want to extend the frame 3 inches to centre the front wheel in the fenders. If it was a 64 or earlier I would say go for it, but this may be more of a project than other options. If you are looking to change from the twin beam, then seriously look at the 03 CV front end.

As for the EFI into the truck, my 63 uni is running one out of an 88 F150.
