I am going with a 53-54 Ford.
I am going to go out on a limb and say it was a convertible though. There should be something left of a roof if it's a sedan or HT.

I am sticking with 1954. I have my reasons. OK Lance, you can give us the correct answer.

Here are my reasoning for thinking it is a 1954. First off there is enough left to know for sure it was a Ford. Second you can see from the hole in top of the dash that it had the speedometer pod in the top of the dash, it has the speaker grill mounted in the top of the dash. If you look through the hole where the speaker went you can see bent up under it what looks like the remains of the ash tray slot. The dash is not that of a 1949 to 51 as the dash looked totally different. The 1952 and 53 models did not have the opening in the top of the dash for the speedometer cluster and had the radio speaker grill on the front of the dash and not the top. Those two years also had a clock or a place for one on the top center of the dash. The 1954 models had the speedometer pod in the top of the dash as in the picture, it also had the speaker and speaker grill in the center top as in the picture, it had the ash tray in the center of the dash below the speaker grill as in the picture. The 1955 Fords also had the pod type of speedometer and the speaker grill on top of the dash but the ash tray was mounted closer to the steering column and not directly under the speaker grill eliminating it as being a probable correct answer. While the 1956 didn't have a pod type of speedometer it did have a large hooded one that sat in a semi elliptical hole in the top of the dash and a speaker grill in the center. But all 1956 models had a three spoke steering wheel. 1956 was the first year for the Lifeguard designed cars meaning they had the three spoke dished steering wheels, whereas the earlier years had a two spoke flat steering wheel unless you opted for the accessory wheel. By 1957 the bumpers and the dashes had changed so drastically that those years would not even be in the running for the correct answer. If you have more pictures of the car that could reveal more clues
