Slick 60's

I did the axle flip and frame notch. I can bounce on the back of the truck and make the pumpkin hit the bed floor pretty hard. I am adding a pair of add-a-leafs to get it back up about 1.5" if that doesn't do the trick. I'm gonna cut the floor and take it back down. My floor is already diamond plate, so it's not like I would be ruining a pristine floor. The rear axle flip lowers by the diameter of the axle housing plus the spring pad plus the spring pack. So for me, it was a 6"+ drop. If you have to add angle shims to correct pinion angle (I did), that adds to the drop.

Another thing you have to watch for is shock angles and lengths. As you drop the truck the rear shock angle increases. The more the angle increases, the less effective the shock is.

If I flip my springs will I loose my ability to use this truck as a truck. As in hauling parts and pulling small trailers? I planned on making my own notch, flipping the leaves, and replacing the shocks. My truck does have extra leaves compared to other F100s Ive seen, so that should put me .5 to 1 inch lower then other people doing a flip.

Keeping the same springs you should still have similar load capacity but you will have no room between the axle and frame even notched for a big load or heavy tongue weight of a trailer. Don't do it if you want to keep using it as a truck.

when I say trailer its a small utility trailer for motorcyles. The most i put in the back would be 600 lbs maybe. Still a no go?

Run some helper bags or air shocks at the least and it would be fine for that kinda load/towing. Regardless as mentioned above the rear end housing will also become accessible to banging the floor with much of any notch.
