Slick Stock is great...think of a truck show with your favorite uncles, cousins, and buddies from high school. It is not all about awards as so much about having fun and hanging out. Some guys come with trucks half done, some are class A builds, other are barely running...some don't even have trucks anymore but still come. It is a blast.

The 73 up tailgate will require quite a little work to fit the body lines and to fit flush,

That truck is going to be nasty! Tailgates for that model are easy just be glad you didn't get a unibody.... Everything for those are hard to find...

If no one has told you stay away from LMC truck products, a lot of us has had issues with their stuff.

Yea, I like avs products, I have door poppers on my dually and I love them, today we are supposed to be finishing up the bed mounts and getting the bed tacked in and all mounted in, but there is so much finish welding to be done it isn't even funny I'm pretty sure the only thing that is fully welded is the frame haha.

I hear ya on the welding part. Stupid cab welding took forever on my cab from the stupid cummins going into the cab.

The problem is that most aftermarket wheels don't fit right under thaws trucks due to the bodylines. No one will argue that whitewalls will look good on the truck but it depends on the look you are going for. I have a couple wheel styles
in mind if you decide to do otherwise.

Tyler I like the larger wheels myself . With that being said I will be running Coy's C-5's in 15 X10 and 15 X 7 under my truck due to finances $670.00 for the set with tax out the door . Coys does make the C5 in a 20 X14 though which would work on your truck . The C5 is a classic 5 spoke design which looks good under our trucks like a Torque Thrust , Heres a link to the Coy's site for a look at some of the options they have . I will warn you though the 20 X14's in Chrome run about $900.00 a piece .

I personally prefer the 15-17" wheels, but with that being said, the 22" wheels definetely fit the style on a bagged truck.

Tyler, Here is a pic of my rollpan I made from the top edge of a bed. I used the top edge of a short bed because they don't have the center post hole pocket. Less to deal with. I measured between the sides at the rear and cut long. Then I made end plates for the pan and the inside of the bed so I could bolt it in. I used fender welting for between the two pieces. Just my preference. I cut the box in for the lisence plate. As for the tailgate, I used the side of the same donor bed to weld over the stock gate. I removed the latch and used seatbelt buckles to hold the gate shut inside.
I did the first rollpan and gate like this. They were not available when I made mine. Like they had mentioned earlier, You can purchase pans now.
Hey, While you are at it. Why not do a bigwindow convertion. I also did that for my son. Just ask and someone will point you in the right direction. I have pics of ours in my photobucket somewhere.

Wheel choice for me depends on the size of your pockets. Nothing looks better than a large billet wheel. Certain wheels never look bad on anything, such as Intro Twisted Vistas, however they were very pricy. A 22" smoothie wheel made to use a stock hubcap would be sweet, and companies like raceline can build wheels to your spec. But then again, it also depends on our budget. If budget is an issue, you can always check around on craigslist.com or other forums to see if you can find a nice used set for sale as well. I don't think coy's look bad by any means, but I do find myself seeing a lot of them at shows these.

As far as my truck goes, I have been jerked around by a company regarding a custom axle made for the truck to handle the torque and hp of the cummins. Cab work is done but I need the axle to run the lines, mount the bed, etc. Btw, my name is Justin !

I will have to agree the Coy's are overdone " and I own a set " . The problem is I like the 5 spoke design . I will find something differant once my truck is done but for now the Coy's were cheaper than Torque Thrusts and I like the rim better on them .
