That is an EXCELLENT picture of the radiator support structure that is also used on the '65 core supports.
The '66 does not have those brackets.

I don't believe the '65 brackets will have the horizontal support pieces.

I'm Thinking Of Powder-Coating The Support. Has Anyone Done This? Either That Or Using The Satin Black Paint Used On Snow-Plow Blades. Any Ideas?..........................

powder coating works fine, although somewhat pricey due to firing that big an oven. Not sure what is currently on snow plows (luckily ), but something similar to an industrial bridge coating works well. Note that you may want to strip off the original "primer" to insure success.

For everyone concerned about the core support. I talked to these people today, and found out that this support has the wings to mount the radiater like the 65 and earlier trucks, and does not have the nut welded in for 66 battery box. The support was copied from one with a C6 part number. I can only surmise that the change in support could have been one of Fords mid year changes, and perhaps the 65 style was used until the changeover. I would still rather start with this support to make one for a 66 than a 64 or earlier. As far as bed floors, I have doubts about those ever being made. Problem is shipping cost and tooling costs. The cross braces might not be so bad but again, it would just about mean to sell any you need t make the bed floor. Price would be way up there and how many would be sold? Not many, I would guess, as price would stop most of us from buying. When ;you can buy a complete bed in decent shape for 1200$ it would be hard to justify even 600 for the floor plus shipping cost on top of that.

Thanks Paul, I Have A Friend That Works At A Powder-Coating Place Here In Town That I Have Used For A Lot Of My Bike Parts. Thursdays Are "Black-Days" Meaning They Do Black Only, So Anything I Need Done In Black They Will Squeeze It In For Me And Usually Pretty Cheap. I'm Guessing Probably $40.00 To Do A Core-Support. ............

So this is a blend of both years? Looks like some mods will be required for either '65 or '66, correct? My '66 cores don't have supports like those, so they would need to be cut off. And as Banjopicker pointed out, there are no attach points for the battery tray.

Not a big deal, but they need to point these differences out. There is a reason these two years don't interchange, and it ain't the flat fenderwells.

I'm assuming Dana ordered for his '64, and the pictures he provided show what appears to be correct for the '64 with the rounded inner fenders.
The verdict's still out on the "'65/'66" with '66 part number. It obviously is NOT a '66 part and without seeing it, I would be inclined to believe it is probably the same one sold by LMC, which also comes with '65 brackets and incorrect angle brackets for either year where the inner fenders mount.
As Rich said, it appears to be of good quality and may represent the only option other than repairing an original.

So I'm confused now - the repo radiator support has the radiator brackets like the original 65s but it has no brackets for either style of inner fenders (61-64 or 65-66)??

I understand making a repo part for a specific year and listing it for other years with modifications but why in the world would they make a repo part that won't work as purchased for any year and thus requires modifications for all potential applications??

What am I missing?

The one we are dealing with (from LMC) had what appeared to be the early application brackets. I did not check it against an earlier inner, but they appear to be correct for that application. The previous lMC repro had bolted-on brackets, which were removed to replace the spot-welded incorrect ones on the new repro. I "think" my '65 is OEM; it also had the bolted on brackets.
I realize I'm not exactly clearing up any concerns; Both Dale and I have been around these trucks for generations, and don't quite understand how this part can be said to be a "C6" part number.

For those confused by the pictures posted, this is the '61-64 style core support. It is NOT for a '65-66, nobody has posted a picture of a 65-66 style on this thread. This was what he ordered for his '64. Don't confuse the 2 parts.

Those not around the older '61-64 style, there are no brackets for the inner fenders to bolt to like there is on a '65-66. Look at the picture and you can see a series of 3 holes in an arc midway between the headlight bump and the radiator opening. These holes are where the inner fender bolts on for an early slick. The later models use a piece of angle since the inner fenders are more square than the earlier ones.

I called on floor panels today, they DO NOT make them nor have any sources. Shipping is a little of a challenge but not expensive if your determined. You can contact private or independent hotshot companies or drivers. I worked for a couple of years by myself using yesterdaystractor.com hauling schedule and from there, referrals. Lots of antique collectors and drivers get work from that site. I have posted about this site once before. Check it out.
