Well the new exhaust valves were installed
New head gasket.. bolts torqued down
Intake & headers back on .....
adjusted valves , started & warmed up
Let cool overnight
Checked header & intake bolts
Rechecked headbolts
Started , warmed up , adjusted valves
Runs v.e.r.y smooth
Kinda disapointed with those huge mufflers :?
It's just too quiet
Started building the kickdown cable for the c6
Too cold to work tomorow
Guess I'll make a new list of everything that needs to be done

Got the transmission kick-down cable made
Used a steel brakeline tube with an aircraft cable run inside
Made all the fittings so it is very adjustable
Starts pulling at half throttle & is fully extended when wide open
Not the prettiest... but works quite well

The shocks on a 2wd tilt forward
The mounts on a 4wd are on the back side of the axle
If you knock out the rivets
Cut about 5" off the bottom (the 2wd towers are taller)
Drill a couple of bolt holes
Put the left on the right side.....
And the right on the left side....
You can use the stock shock absorbers

The hood was in terrible shape
It had been unlatched & whacked the cab
I brazed up cracks & slapped a can of bondso in it
It has hoofprint dents sll over it .....
but I wanted to see how this paint works that I'm trying
$55 a gallon & they will match color & with hardner should last fairly good
... body is quite rough... this hood will fit right in

Nope ... I'm not wasting my time trying to bring it back... if it was original paint , I would consider it , but driver side has been repainted... poorly ... I eventually will put a budget paint job on it

Well …
This one won’t get finished by me :?

But I sold it to a nice young energetic fellow from Texas
It was a good start
And I will be glad to see it finished
….
Just have too many things on my plate
And no reason for it to just sit
….
I didn’t lose any money :2cents:
……
Can direct my energy into other projects

Be sure that the new owner keeps us updated on his work!!
It's hard to let them go but sometimes you run into the right person to take on the projects we can't get finished.
