Thanks for the pics. Gives me an idea about the oil sending unit for the gauge, an extention pipe. cool!!
Man, I'd say that battery blew up!
I'm surprised half the engine bay isn't stripped of paint & halfway rusty because of it.
That truck is really great, and for a really great price too. Congrats on your score!
It's very obvious that the guy loved it & took good care of it, as previously stated, I bet he was really bummed when he dented the tailgate. I like all the gizmo's on it, you can tell the guy was a tinkerer. The glovebox lock made me chuckle.
Looks like the front bumper has been changed, but I wouldn't let that detract from the truck's overall appeal at all. That thing is a real beauty.

If it starts to rain, they'll tax the splash.
If you want to fish, they'll tax the bass.
If you plant a yard, they'll tax the grass.
If you don't play nice, they'll fine your *$#!

I would say those hubcaps are the originals, but let some of these other guys weigh in on that one. I bet that gas cap is the original, too.
The ends are different on Slicks, than they are on '72 to '77 trucks. On Slicks, the upper part of the bumper end is pointed slightly, like this...

The ends on the later trucks were more straight up & down, like this...

Otherwise, they're an exact match for the Slick bumpers. The repop vendors regularly list them as being all the same, but they're not. I haven't looked at date codes on them, so I can't be much help there.
There's a thread around here somewhere, where we discussed the bumper issue at length...beats me if I can find it, though.BackyardResto wrote: Slick, Whats different on the front bumper? I just crawled under it to see if I could tell if it had ever been changed but no luck. Do you or anyone else know where the date code would be? Ford usually has them near where license plate goes but so far have not found it to give me a time line if in fact it has been changed.

Yep, it's pretty cut & dried. All '64, '65 & '66 F100 & 250's should have that pointed bumper (F350's too, unless they got a utility type of bumper). '61 thru '63 had pointed ends too, but they have 6 bolts holding them on instead of 4.BackyardResto wrote: Is it ALL F series that have same bumper? Could it be possible a early F250 had a different bumper than the F100's? or is it pretty cut and dried?
The bumper could have been changed when it was maybe 10 years old, that would still allow for 30 years worth of "patina" to do it's thing, making it look like it was born with it by now.
Anyhoo, as I said before, that certainly doesn't detract from how super clean & original the truck is as a whole. You still have something really cool on your hands.

Randy, I have the angle bumper on mine, my donor body was a 66 F250 and the bumper cam from it. I would put money that it was original. You can kinda tell from the pic
