I don't know!, it doesn't look like a slick chassis to me!, not a F100 one anyhow. Eser will come wandering by soon he`ll know!, if I`m wrong my bad! Painted the cab today.

I was not sure what i should do about the dash pad since it was cracked to pieces by the AZ sun. I wanted to buy a new pad but have to seen the prices!
I was suprised when we pulled off the pad and found a metal dash. So we painted it and I like it! I may kick myself this summer when the sun kills my eyes from all the glare off the dash.

Are you going to redrill the bed mount holes in the frame and move the rear axle forward to close up the bed/cab gap a little?

I wonder about that. I think my dash pad will disintegrate when I go to remove mine, and yeah, they are about $500 at Carpenter's these days.Louball wrote:So we painted it and I like it! I may kick myself this summer when the sun kills my eyes from all the glare off the dash.
Maybe adding flattening agent to the clearcoat and getting more of a semi-gloss or satin looking dash?
I saw where someone in a newer truck just did a custom partial dash pad to cover the 4-6" of the leading edge of the dash, so there was some protection in a wreck, but not the 12" or more wide piece of vinyl to have to maintain. Would take some thought to get to look right, but I am thinking about it myself.
your paint looks good.

as far as i know a 66 frame should be the same as a 67/72. maybe when he took all those right handed pictures it messed up your perception.Alan Mclennan wrote:I don't know!, it doesn't look like a slick chassis to me!, not a F100 one anyhow. Got the hood painted
and the fenders
and the inside of the doors with the outside ready for paint.
The cab needs a little more block sanding then ready for paint.
