I voted left because it appears to be lower, but I like the looks of the black one better with the chrome mouldings....Anthony

I had put this poll up for 30 days for everyones vote to see what everyones opinion is. It will be settled this weekend when I break out the old tape measure.
Was there a point? Sure, Just to see how much fun we can really have with a simple poll.
I'm going to measure both of them from the front bottom edge of the hood to the floor. I already know the measurement on the black one. I will take a close up pic of both measurements and post them here this weekend.
No prizes but we had fun.
Stay tuned.
Anyone want to take a guess in inches and fractions on the black one?
I'de guess that Merles is 32 1/2 inches.
Break out the tape measures

The primer grey truck looks to be just a touch lower (I'll guess 1/8" to 1/4") with slightly less tire-to-fender gap. Could be due to tire size differences though.

As promised:

The top edge of the valance tells it all?

Hey wyatt,
What size tires and rims are you running on both trucks? My 62 Uni has 31 inch tires on it which are the same size that's on my Bronco, which is fine for 4 wheel drive. I want to change the tires to lower my 62. It won't be in the weeds, but should break the sound barrier easier.

It's got a 460, C6 and 3:70 gears. Thanks!

I will post the size this weekend. I can't get to them during the week with the late hours i'm working.
Wow, 460 w/ a C-6. That sounds like a sweet set up. We had one with the same set up and it was a screamer. Sold it to a young kid who rolled it over one night in town. Thankful for him no one was hurt. We got the sunday paper and there on the front page was the 66 with it's exhaust work facing up. My son has the picture on his tool box at work.

OK, I'll be looking for them. Too bad about the 66. Mine is pretty quick, but still have more to do to it, like the tires.
Thanks!

Soooo...
was this a trick question then? Looks too close to call!

No, Not really a trick question. We just wanted to see what the majority had to say. The majority says the grey truck is lower but the measurements show the black truck to be lower at the top edge of the valance.
Would be cool to see what other members trucks measure in at. We all know Garbz is down in the weeds and so is twistedfreak.
I found out the tire and wheel size:
P235/70R15 Both trucks have the same combo.
Hope this helps you.

My 64 is 35" to the valance-just has leaves removed& 225-50x17 tires. Planning on
a 3" axle drop & coilovers to drop some more.

My '62 is at 39 1/4". When I put my chrome steelies and 235/75s back on I'm thinking around 40" The current tires are 225/70.

I'd like to get it a bit lower. I'm also gonna part with two 8" steelies and replace with 6". I bought new chrome trim rings and plan to paint just the rims, not sure what color.
What leaf did Chad remove? Are ben's monos reverse eye or standard eye?

I honestly can't see a difference between the two.
Maybe I'm just missing something, but I'm finding it hard to discern where the top edge of the valance ends on the black truck. The grey truck appears to be 37 1/4" but I really can't judge from the photo what the corresponding measurement is on the black one.
