I have alot of admiration for guys who build those ship models. I have one here that I have had for decades, originally started by my Dad. I work on it here and there and do intend to finish it (I just wanted to do one), I doubt I would ever do another.
That one is VERY NICE, the one I have is alot smaller.

That gold one sounds purty interesting & I love that U-haul truck. Too bad the U-haul is already bid up to $40 with five days to go.

Well, I just bid on the Gold Plated one. It's kinda gaudy but has to be ridiculously rare.

The white one looks like it's a Promo model - I am watching it now, thanks Pat.

I have been watching these also for a while on ebay. They have mostly been going for well above 100 bucks a piece. Too much for my buget at this time. We ought to all get together and try to convince AMT to re issue a unibody truck an a 64-66 slick model.

You are talking a whole different world with out of production collectible model cars. If you find one new in the box unassembled they go for over $600 last I knew of - bout $1000 for Jo Han's 70 Superbird NIB. I sold a near mint (was in excellent shape but most of the pieces had come off the sprues) first run 1/32 scale Monogram Gulfhawk about 10 years ago for $350. A nice original unpainted promo (under the Mobil truck in Pat's post) is easily worth $100 + maybe more.
Get them to release any 64 - 66 cab/box truck model - very unlikely. The rumor of a stock 67 Cougar kit is now 4 years old and has a huge following for potential sales - like I said 4 years and still no kit.

Well missed out on two more (built ones) over night. The gold plated plastic trucks mentioned earlier were presented dealers in a shadow box type frame setup during the early 60s. They had both Ford trucks and cars. We had a old dealer in town that still had them hanging up, from 61 through 66. Couldn't tell you if he had trucks for each year but I believe he did. When he passed his sons took over, wouldn't part with the cars, I imagine they are in a box now in some attic.

I figured the gold plated one was something like that. I sure wouldn't mind having one for my truck shelf.
