Takes longer to put back together than take apart. Looks great.

Not as productive today as I just had to go learn CPR again for the tenth time in my career.

That wasted 3 hours.

Anyway. With the assistance of Old Smiley, I got some window regulators and I started installation on the passenger side. Anti-rattle kit gave ,e a run for the money and I ended up busting the vent window handle off the post. It didnt seat right as it seems and I will need to redo it. Which that of course happened after I finished building out the door.



Working in cleaning the latch mech and will start assembling that tomorrow. But of course my day off is filled with work shit.

Is there a good way to clean all that 50 year old dirt-grime and grease off the latch? I used one can of break clean and a tooth brush,, probably need another 5 cans of break clean to make it clean.

You might want to try soaking the latch in lacquer thinner over night, this should loosen up just about anything.

I want to work on fenders today since it's going to be nice and also half my day will get spent at work.

Earlier this week I decided to order the firewall pad and it came in this afternoon.



Dry fit. The plastic clips I bought don't fit the holes(too much lizard skin around

Mac's has the insert with the Ford oval and Product of Ford Motor Company.

Spent my morning sipping coffee, cuddling pups and watching dirty jobs... easy day off.

Decided to get something done and got my passenger door mech installed.
It's a messy job





I was also welding the fender in prep for prime and body work. I lost the photo but you know it's a fender....


Anyway, I also was working on the side step and had my big vise on the floor, a piece of metal in it, and I was using a cut off wheel. Out of nowhere the cut off wheel exploded and nailed my left inner ankle.


Tiny cut on the inside of my Cankle. Shit scared the hell out of ,e, and ruined my favorite sneakers. I normally wear boots or these sneakers.....


Anyway, tomorrow I plan on getting the fenders in primer and while it drys, work on sanding the runs out of my driver door. Maybe even assemble the windows.

Worked on a few different things today. Focus on driver door.

Wet sanded some and got a little scared trying to get these runs out...
In current situation, I'm gonna let them slide. Will work on them another time. I cut and buffed cautiously too.





Then I worked on getting the door mech assembled.




I spent some time getting these in epoxy. And they currently sit in one thick coat of high build primer.



Future want.... good glass oll around. My driver window is super scratched and Pitts. The rear and windshield have scratches and bad spots. But what I have will work for now.

Used the 3m yellow weatherstripping adhesive and installed the rubber on the driver door. It went on real well. Though one of my holes in the bottom was off by 1/4 according to the pin.

After install the door shut tight and no light leaking thru. I will need to.the adjustment to the door still and to the sill plate. It's rubbing the bottom panel on the door and chipped the paint.

Today I'm getting screwed on work hours, I wouldn't normally need to be in till 230pm since I have to stay overnight. Well, we have an evaluation meeting about a male recruit who likes to talk shit about women and gay people. 18 year old idiot. That is a lack of parenting not a problem we need in the CG. Anyway I now have to be in at 0830 for that. If I can sneak out soon enough I will work on the passenger door.

It was a 65* day today when I got home from work. Decided to do some body work on the front fenders. They may look worse then they are in this photo. I had to put some filler in a few low spots.
Looks like either shopping carts or chain link fences had their way over the years.



I got my new steering wheel- debating on painting it grey... or leaving it black.





Spent a few hours working on the passenger door too. I had to do some alignment and fighting to get the door to shut without rubbing paint. It took forever, a floor jack, piece of wood and luck.

It's shutting nice now, but may needs little more adjustment.

I put the passenger weather strip on as well. Much easier than the driver door now that I knew what to do.

April...In many trucks the steering wheel matches the color of the steering column. Or at least they did from the factory. Both colors, black or gray, will look great with your interior.

My body man deals with runs by taking a box cutter blade, putting a piece of tape on both points, then scraping them down to the tape thickness. marking the runs with a sharpie prevents cutting to deep when scraping or wet sanding.

Raining real bad today. And the paint store is closed...I need more red paint for the door access panels.

I got a nice pa image from my eBay purchase.
I bought two stickers for the hell of it.


I also bought a center button for my horn ring.



I think today may just be a wash as it's raining. I may go out and fiddle with the door hinge hardware. I also may do some cleaning of the shop. I can't shove the truck out in the rain just yet. I can maybe find some YouTube to catch up on as sell.
