today i found time to cut the piece i need out of another hood.

well i welded the patch in the other day, i do not consider myself a great welder but i did manage not to make any burn holes in the metal this time.
while i am not 100% pleased (i am always hard on and self critical of my work so i never completely happy
)a minor amount of body filler material will take care of the rest.
going to try and get the filler done later today.

i still have the rest of the hood. it had a big dent where the emblem goes just next to the piece i cut out.

The finished hood looks great, Brian. The welds looked pretty darn good to me also.
You must have the heat turned up in your shop to get the filler to cure. In my garage it would freeze before it cured.

seems to be a thing of 2 makes one lately
needed 2 hoods to get 1
2 tailgates
2 drivers side fenders
2 trans hump covers.
cut and weld.
will get some pics up soon.

Ice, both of my fenders have that same problem... I didn't know how I was going to fix them. It will be later anyway... keep up the good work...

Looks good Brian. I can swear I could smell that primer while I was reading that.
Don't that just make you feel good when you do something like that and it turns out so good?
