Wow, looks great Gregg!
One hint with the rust encapsulator (or any of those similar products),
make sure you have a real good fully sealed coating, even if you have to apply it twice.
Any rust still showing will continue to work and creep under the coating.
The reason these work is that they "smother" the rust.
So if it can still get oxygen.................

did some more indoor work on the hood badges of my 61 uni. The chrome was showing cracks and some pit marks so I taped over the letters, sanded them down as best I could, sprayed some etching primer on them, then some more of the flat rustoleum. then peeled the letters back off. Came out looking good, not sure how they will hold up though, but since they aren't in a high use area, I think they should be ok.
my goal is the silver jade all over, then use the flat black accents in certain areas with just a little bit of chrome. Id like to do a stripe running down the uni body line if possible. This is all years in the future, but its all I can work on in 40 degree temps

Dang dude that looks super sweet!!! Hope you don't mind me copying your idea. I've already been painting my accents flat black, front bumper and interior nick nacks so far. Check out my build thread it's coming along

Yeah those turned out to be pretty killer...I may steal that idea too...I hope your okay with everyone stealing your idea?

have at man, that's why I posted them. key is taping off the letters then sanding down the chrome till the shine is off, I did it till the shine was dulled as I didn't want to keep sanding! then blow them clean (cant really wash it clean since the tape is on there), then a couple coats of etching and dry for 24 hours, then a couple coats of paint. then use the tip of the exacto blade to peel back the tape.
If I were to do it again, I would tape off that whole section where the starts are so it stayed chrome as taping that stars were a annoying.

I did mine the other day! Looks awesome. I just sprayed a lot of primer coats and sanded them down smooth. Took 2 days to fully dry. Left them in the cold one of the days though. And yes the stars were a B!! I had to touch them up with with a brush and some satin paint I had. Well turns out I forgot I already mixed reducer and hardener in that can! It is glossy in the touch up areas
I'm gonna spray the original spray paint in a cup and touch it up with that
