Just to let you know, I nearly shat myself when you said you wouldn't be posting updates! nuts.gif And then all the pic links went dead! nuts.gif faint.gif nuts.gif
I'm glad you decided to continue showing your progress, I think I may have gone crazy without knowing what was going on. I haven't posted in this thread as often because I've been trying to curtail my "post ho" tendancies that I so often seem to have. I'll give more feedback, I promise. :D

Any chance you'll fix the dead pic links? This thread definitely has the makings of being one of the all-time bestest threads on the whole forum.
BackyardResto wrote:Here are a few showing how nice the box is. I used my magic soap on underside and this is what it looks like... have started to strip the paint with car to try and find any and all factory markings mostly grease pencil and found a bunch.
What magic soap? Whatever it is, it obviously works wonders!
What do the grease pencil markings on the cowl say? I can make out "Dash" and maybe "Auto" on the left, then "Auto" on the right, but can't make out the rest.

That air cleaner is one tight fit, but looks good. I like the Merc valve cover, too. Those & the finned Shelby covers have always been my fave's of the FE flavors. :)
Man, that bed (box) is in amazing shape!

Oh & how often on the pics? Well, a thousand might just smoke someone's confuzer if they clicked on that one  , but I'd say if you post a handful of progress pics as often as you like, you won't have anyone complaining. :D
I know what you mean though, it's hard to gauge the general populous' interest with pics...so I usually just sorta post what I like to post & hope I don't seize up anyone's confuzer.

Anyhoo, keep 'em coming! woohoo.gif

Yeah, that's my main peeve about Photobucket's site...you move a pic & it breaks the link. Other sites will let you move a pic & it will leave the link alone. Don't go too crazy trying to fix 'em, you're pressed enough for time as it is. Maybe just save it for a rainy day...har-dee-har.

That's really cool about the grease pencil markings, I had no idea they wrote so many notes on these trucks. Kinda makes me wanna go scrub down my '65 cowl now.
BackyardResto wrote:I dont want to overwhelm with who, what, where, when & why but if curious as to how I did something just ask

That's perfect! And I'm sure there will be plenty of questions.
One question I have...I see you've pulled off a couple rear spring perches, do you re-rivet those back on when you're done, or use bolts? If it's rivets, where do you get the rivets?
BackyardResto wrote: I do have a question if anyone knows. Front spring factory paint dab colors? seeing as though the front springs were different slightly from left to right I forgot to mark which one was where. Need the paint dab color so I know which is which.. Ok, I am wacko but want to put them back on when done.
I'll see if there's anything even resembling some paint dabs on my '65 front springs...that's the only thing in my collection that I'm mostly certain is still original.
My version of 'magic soap' will probably just be Simple Green, though.
