Yes, that is correct! Here are the contest rules.
A small scenario will be listed with signs and symptoms and minimal illustrations. The wining diagnostician will receive a wonderful prize package delivered directly to their home or business courtesy of the USPS.
Scenario:
The vehicle starts up and idles without incident. The vehicle can be driven beyond 80 mph providing the acceleration rate is gradual and smooth.
When attempting to squeal tires upon acceleration or really hit it when running, the vehicle stutters and hiccups in the form of backfire.
Specifications:
1. Stock replacement 22.5 gallon fuel tank.
2. Stock replacement sending unit, rings and float
3, 3/8" Goodyear fuel line from tanks to switch.
4. Hard line from switch to engine compartment.
5. 3/8" Goodyear fuel line to pump.
6. Holley mechanical pump.
7. 6an fitting to braided hose to filter.
8. Earls filter.
9. 6an braised hose and fitting to dual feed carb.
8. Holley 670 cfm carburetor.
9. 14 in KnN filter and air cleaner assembly with stubstack.
10. Holley and Summit mix and match linkage springs and brackets for carb.
11. Weiand Stealth manifold.
12. Proform HEI distributor/coil.
13. 9 mm Ford Racing wires.
14. Autolite Platinum plugs gapped at 0.045
15. Mr gasket 160 degree thermostat.
16. Transdept (piece o crap) 90 degree water neck. (I had to re-tap threads because of poor chrome quality control.)
17. Fram oil filter.
18. Castrol synthetic oil. (I plan on changing immediately due to water neck issues when dealing with distributor. (Side note: I would not use an HEI distributor again.)
19. Two Optima Red top batteries.
Miscellaneous:
I need to replace stock valve covers. They are bent and seal poorly due to what I speculate to be over tightening bends.
Timing is slightly advanced < 10 degrees.
