Rims & Tires

I joined this site a short time ago after I picked up a 66 short step.
It has been 30 years since my last one
Anyway the one I picked up is in need of tires.
So I am kicking around idea's for rims and tires.
Is there a place to go to view pictures of Slick 60's with (as many as possible) differant rim & tire conbinations?
Mainly rim's, (I did a search).
I am leaning towards 17's as that is looking like the next popular factory size (making tires less expensive in the future as well as now) (correct me if I am wrong). I like some of the old school cromes out, living in the NW and all the rain I worry about the rust issues. I would like to view as many as possible before I purchase.

Thanks Gary

It worked ok, but no color, no short step, and would not let me lower it. =(
Does anyone have a collection of pictures of Slick 60's?
Or maybe people could post up pictures (don't need to be big) of thier trucks with differant rims?

Thanks for tha help

this site:
http://www.newstalgiawheel.com/wheel_visualizer.asp
has a slick in there and you can lower it and see a bunch of different rim and I think tire combos,

also I have about 200 some pictures of slicks I collected off the internet from ebay and google images. I don't know what the tire and rim sizes are in any of them but if you PM me I could send you some of what I have.

I was able to change the color but not raise/lower or change bed style. I know there are others out there...just been awhile since I tried.

That one is really nice...lots of options including staggered wheel and tire sizes for that 'just right' combo. Plus the option to tint your windows too!

in reality instead of looking at something on a site is not a real good idea, need to get out look at trucks at a show, this will give you a better idea  since its impossible to look at wheels on a computer cause its not going to show say a 2 tone slick or one color or lowered slick or raised, red, white green black pink with pocodotes etc..  get my meaning also how much cleaning do you want to do chrome means time as polished aluminum means time, clear coated aluiminum like also s/s hubcaps is wash and go,, one you buy wheels you cannot keep changing since it is a costly investment that is hard sometimes to trade off

I missed the car show that was in town a couple weeks ago. Been working on the house to much, trying to get done so I can enjoy some of the summer. The maintance of the wheels is an issue (to a point). If I don't like the wheel/tire combo I am not going to get it just so I don't have to clean them. I shy away from crome becouse of all the rain/wet in the NW. I have seen a number of trucks on this site that looked nice with the wheel tire combo they have. Another option is to clear coat the painted/powder coated wheel to keep the water at bay. I was kind of hoping people would post up some pictures of there trucks with differant wheel tire combos. I have seen at least one set on this site that was sweet (never thought of those rims on this style of truck). I will go back and try to find & post a picture or link to it.

well grw, I'll be the first. my truck isn't done but these are the wheels I plan to put on it with a slightly bigger tire. the ones pictures are 265/75-16 (aprox. 31-10.50) the ones that are going to be on it when finished will be 33's. these rims are off of a '94 f-250. Anthony

Glossy black 15x8" smoothies w/ baby moon hubcaps. Front wrapped in 255/60/15 and out back 275/60/15...

The truck has been lowered about 3" front and 4-5" back.

i like those.

these are not bad for stock ford wheels although the center is not really my favorite, $20 for the set of 4 with good tires i could not pass up.

I thought I replied to this..... owell I will now.
I like the Blue fleet side, very nice.
I am thinking about 17 or 18 inch rims.
Mine has a straight 6, so I just want some nice looking and handling tires. We get enough rain I prefer something that does not just (or at least clear coated). Keep the input coming. I think this could be a good source of information for everyone.
