1964 f-1 Project STRANGE BED

The truck has 80,000 org. miles and a 312 w/3speed overdrive
so I fixed the rear fenderwells ( They where cut for dually wheels)
Its a 1/2 ton so next is to replace the rear end and lower it.

Welcome to the board! That's the first time I have seen that type of wheel well opening! Did you do the work? Looks good!

The truck is a f-100, but the original owner put a 3/4 ton rear end in it and dually wheels. He cut the wheel wells to fit them, so it needed to be fixed anyway. I ran across a unibody parts truck so i used those wheel well openings. After i did it i saw the south american style truck in Classic Trucks mag. I was trying to make it different but i was disapionted when i saw almost the same thing already exists... oh well.
Im actually trippin on a f-500 c.o.e. i just got at the moment.

Wow... i did not expect this kind of responce.
The FTE site is a-buzzin too. Ill reiterate...
The truckis a 1/2 ton (f-100 badges) and the front is still 5 lug.
I got the truck from the original owner and have the paper work from new. He installed the rearend in the 70's
then put on this wierd dual wheel kit, it uses two
normal rims. Ill take some photos of the kit.
I plan on installing the 5 lug rear end back in it. and lowering it 3'' or so
with i period speed shop logo from a local shop thats gone now.

The tool box was bent so i got rid of that on this side, the otherside i just welded the fender area.

Now that im looking at the paperwork i got with the truck,
it looks like the owner wrote in 312 ( the hand writing matches his)
But its defanatly a y-block so i it could be a 292. ( ? )
Im not a guru on these trucks so im not sure.

Hey man welcome! Vegas is representing for sure.... we'll have to all get together sometime... of course I need to get a couple minor things done first like suspension, brakes, motor, wiring, etc....

312's were only made from 1956-1957 for ford cars and 1956-1960 for Mercury cars. If your engine is original it's a 292.

JC Whitney used to sell those kits, a spacer to hook the wheels together.
