Post by twotone »

I remember seeing a post on here about removing the paint and polishing the round speedo metal instrument panel. I have searched and cannot find it. it seems like the person used something like ez strip. I have a metal painted instrument panel and want to strip and polish it. can anyone help.

go to an auto parts store i got mine at oreilys and bought a gallon its alot stronger than the spray type but its call aircraft paint remover about 30 bucks take the piece you want to strip and bruch it on and let it sit 15 mins use a plastic spoon and some q-tips so you dont scratch the aluminum and get it all off and wash it with water and your ready to go

http://fordtruk.com/forums/viewtopic.ph ... hanks+thug I just used stripper from Wal-Mart and a plastic spreader cut to the size I needed for the area I was doing. It took some time but turned out great. Members here have great ideas. Anthony

P.S. I have now added my white face overlays......

I just poured a little brake fluid on my inst panel and it cleaned off every bit of the paint. Then I just flushed it with water.
