Anyone remember this slick?

Hey, just curious, I remember the old site in like, '04 or '05 had a member with a slick he was turning into a panel wagon/suburban/exploder type thing, it had falcon taillights, and the drawing for it had a purple slick with flames. Back then it didn't get any further than the mock-up of the rear of the cab at the end of the bed, and I was wondering if that member is still on here, and if he's gotten any further along on the project, since that was a pretty slick idea... for a slick...

Guy was in Iowa, nobody has heard from him in years.
I am seriously addicted to the idea of what I call the "Unipanel" I have been using my long to figure out alot of it - gonna build it on a short though. I just found one I have to check out last week. I have spent alot of time on this - it's not as easy as you would think.

It was by a guy I think named "Skippy" who lived close to Kid and Foodstick IIRC. Matt was gonna archive all that stuff from the old site. I wonder if he ever did.

if ford built non-uni trucks with uni style bedsides for argentina, then why did they do the wrong box thing here? just a thought

Over the years, Ford did a lot of weird unexplainable things.

The guy that was turning the uni into a panel went by the name Scooter, and was from the Pella Iowa area. Kid and I were talking about him last fall, and he was going to check into what was happening with the truck and his progress. I also heard that he sold it off before to much was done. I know he had the uni up on a rotisserie, but it would be good to find out what has happened.
Here are a couple pics that he had of his uni.

Lance and I were at his place and I will see if we can head down to Pella and see if we can remember how to get to his place. He has a Buddy who runs a body shop, maybe we can check out the shops around there to find him. I see his buddies Uni on occasion and will see if i can talk to him the next time I see him................Kid

Apparently he still has the truck, which he still plans to convert to an Expedition. I found he has a website and the truck is posted under the heading AREA 61. Here is his site. http://www.scottswheels.com/

I really like the mock up, it looks better with 2 rear windows per side rather than one big one in my opinion. Also like his rotissere setup.

d'oh! the gears are spinnin' now greg!

I want one.. only with four doors and a working rear tailgate or barndoor style rear..the two-door looks good but not functional with 3 kids!

I have a perfectly good caddy hearse sitting at the house that the roof might work well for a project like this. Turn the hearse into an "El Caddy"..and steal it's top.

Now I just need an F100 Slick. Build this, than put it on the F350 Slick car hauler.. and bring it to Slick Stock. hahaha.. I'm sick in the head.

Hmm.. damn those gears.

How about this one, Greg! Rich drew this and I thought maybe you would like to see it. It could be done as a Slick Cutout in steel if you wanted it. You could cut windows in it yourself the way you might want them, or copy this, draw some windows in it and send it back to me for the order I am sending in. What do you think? TR

If you are going with an Expedition type plan the short route would be a crew cab and a uni bed and alot of welding wire.
I wouldn't mind a copy of that drawing.

After a very long hiatus, I am back and I still have my 61 project. I am getting ready to start work on it again, but I am not sure if I will still do the "unipanel" or build it as a truck. The project got put on hold because my son spent the beginning of his life in the NICU which brought on huge medical bills which eventually led to divorce because my x-wife caused us to go bankrupt. Fast forward many years, my son is healthy and eager to start working on something with me, happily remarried and financially back on track. Now a truck is more practical for me and my family but who knows as the project progresses. My 61 has been sitting on the rotisserie at my dads shop and will be returning home soon. I bought a few parts today and I am digging all my stuff out of storage. I will try to keep you all updated. It is a good feeling to know that I and my project were not lost and forgotten.
