it's a 48-64 disc conversion kit. it's basically the mounts that go on the original spindles to mount gm calipers and rotors.

or do ya'll have better ideas?

i've done some searches and found all sorts of answers on here about brakes.

Speedway has the same kit for $100. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Basic-Dis ... ,7689.html
or the entire kit minus the brake lines for $280.

I'm running the complete kit on Old Red. Seemed to work out well. Red

Too much $, CPP brackets are under $100 shipped. I used theirs on my 62 - afternoon job. Their instructions leave alot to be desired - I solved that issue for everyone though.

Greg, Props for the play-by-play on the install. I wish that I had seen it before my install. My kit had no instructions. I had to modify my calipers the same way. My calipers were from a 72 Impala. I picked up the brake lines and banjo bolt for the same and it all fit fine.

I used the cpp brackets on my 65 and modified where my grease fittings go and used parts availible for local stores. Worked out good.

Its is hard to beat cheaper than a donor, buy old truck under 500.00 use the parts you need, sell the parts you dont need, scrap the rest. you have to try real hard not to make money on this type of deal. As for better that is a judgement call on your part, use parts that Ford engineered for the job versus assembling off brand parts with adapting brackets. Just my opinion I would stick with the Ford parts on the Twin I beams.

my biggest gripe with the CPP setup is all the grinding you have to do. I had to grind chunks off all over them.

And grinding the calipers down SUCKS!!!!

I don't like the idea of having to grind down every caliper I ever put on.... what if I have to limp into AholeZone on the side of the road with a jacked up caliper, and dont have access to a grinder????

And I always feel guilty about handing in a modified caliper for a core return...
And yes, I have had to change out a number of them, LOUSY C#@^Y CALIPERS!!!!

are you guys just buying the bracket kits only ????, I have sold and used the complete kits with everything from them with no problems at all for straight axle trucks and also used kits from Super Bell out of Calif.. with no problems,, which do not know if Super Bell is still in business,, but one thing to remember I have seen many times wrong parts from parts houses do to the fact when they recieved a core back it went back to rebuilders, then rebuilt back in box and then its found later down the road its wrong and where it started is wrong core sent back cause lot of parts houses is say you send a master cylinder back for a 73/79 truck and the mechanic could have thrown a master cylinder from some other Ford and Boom here is where the wrong parts get started,, person behind the counter is just looking to see if a master cylinder is in the box right or wrong thats all he is looking for

nope, I bought the "whole enchilada" and pretty sure I spent too much on it... I shoulda sourced the parts elsewhere. Or different setup altogether.

The fancy laser cut brackets needed to be notched all over to fit the spindles, and even in the instructions, says you gotta grind the nubs off the calipers, as it turns out, not only that, but have to grind the whole inside of the caliper down thin.

I think it's total BS.

When dealing with CPP, be very carefull. They screwed me for about 100$, and I went around and around with these Aholes and never did get any satisfaction. As a result, I warn everyone about dealings with these people. Hope you like this you Aholes.

As a dealer for CCP for 11 years,, We have not had any problems with the parts from selling engine kits to hood kits to dics brakes kits,, we even once in awhile will pull out of a box at random to check to see on fitting but thats to us and cannot speak on what they to others,, once in awhile we have something dropped shipped with no problems,, one thing is thou that there shipping can get out of hand but in the same token a lot of stuff gets awful heavy and most everything we get out of Calif. is very high shipping so thats why this past year we pick up on our own truck and this past year have seen NPD picking up in Ca. and Nv., one company sends her truck from Az. to all of the others in the LA Area to pick up as well due to cost of shipping to her ,, but like I said it can happen to us with a screw up from CCP at any given time and I believe sometimes its better to deal with a dealer cause dealers have more control on products they sell than the own company has at times just my :2cents:

Is there a kit or brackets to put the GM Components on the twin I beams. To be honest I never even looked, using factory parts is the way to go.

Factory Ford disc's for the twin I beam work great, night and day from the skinny drums! Easy swap with lots of donors still around!
