Slick 60's

bed mounts for a 64' Styleside..... I can't remember who sells them. I don't think LMC has them and I've been through their catalog and NPD, etc. a million times and can't find them. I even remember reading there were two different sets based on VIN in 64' but can't remember or find where I've seen that..... please HELP

thanks, but I'm looking to just buy stock replacement jobs..... catalog and page number would be awesome.... anyone? anyone? I'm assuming this is a common thing that many have replaced but my search came up nil..... maybe I've just had too many beers for Fri night (is that possible??)

Not sure what you are talking about? I cut some rubber washers/cushions that I put between the bed and frame to prevent squeaks and I have seen wood spacers in the same location, but I am not sure what "bed mounts" you are talking about.

He's talking about the wooden spacer that goes in the floor channel between the bed and the frame on flair sides. (some of the style sides used them too.)
They keep the mounting bolts from crushing the floor and channel when you mount the bed.
I had several pairs made but they're all gone.
You can make your own if you have an old one to use as a pattern like I did.

there are body mounts and there are bed mounts, I have the body mounts I need the bed mounts. they exist, I've seen them, just can't find them

I'm not interested in cutting rubber or going to lowes, no offense.... god knows I have plenty home made stuff, I just want to go factory replacement on these

in LMC or NPD they show them for the older trucks and the newer ones, but can't find 64-66 styleside....

I can't say I've honestly seen any in catalogs for our trucks. I've seen the one's in NPD, Blue Oval Truck parts, LMC... but not for our years. My '64 didn't have any.

The bed mounts are made of wood.
Hard wood.

Bed blocks.
Wooden.
About 3.5" long and cut to fit inside the floor channel under the bed.
Measure the space and see how wide and how tall they need to be. Make them about 1/8-1/4" taller than they need to be.
The part that fits up in the channel has been radiused to conform to the curve of the channel. The flat part goes on the top of the frame rail.
They keep the bolts from crushing the floor channel.
You can make them no problem.

Nick, I'm not sure since I haven't ordered any. I just happened to be browsing through the NPD catalog and saw those. But I would check out Doug's suggestion - he looks like he has them and in a hardwood which is what they're supposed to be made out of. Not too expensive either. Doug's got a styleside truck too.

Hey Nick...the Bruce Horkey ones were exactly like the ones that came out of my 64's bed.
