what are good places to tie a 65lwb down to a trailer? better safe than sorry, but I don't know where to start. never done this before.

use 4 chains or straps ( if they are heavy enough ) , one at each corner. You can hook the rear ones to the frame, Spring hangers , or rear axle. the front ones can go to the crossmember, I-Beams, Or around the frame horns just behind the bumper. Just make sure whatever you are hooking to is solid and does not have any brake lines or wiring under the chain. Hook the 2 front ones pulling towards the front of the trailer and hook the 2 rear ones pulling towards the back of the trailer. I use a 10,000 lb strap and a chain on each end.

I sometimes over do it when I am tying down but you can ever have to many chains and straps, I have never lost anything yet. My neighbor borrowed my trailer on day to haul a pickup, He called me about 10pm, he was setting alongside the interstate because the only chain he had on the back broke and when the truck rolled forwwrd when he started to slow down the truck rolled over the front of the trailer and ended up between the truck and trailer. Was a bad deal and took us quite awhile to get the thing back on the trailer.

Yeah 4 straps, one at each corner is your best bet.. I always attach to the axles.. When attached to the frame the suspenion will flex over bumps losening then tightening the straps creating extra stress..

i tie off over the axels was well. i have had chains come loose that were tied off to the frame, due to the suspension travel,my new car hauler will have the straps that go over the front tires and ratche down , then a ratchet type 4" tie down for the rear axle
