Slick 60's

I found this on one of my camper rebuilding sites and got a kick out of it. Before you guys get mad in AZ I lived there too. I lived in Tuscon and loved it. This was funny


June 1st: Just moved to Arizona, a state that knows how to live! Beautiful sunny days and warm balmy evenings. What a place! It is beautiful. I've finally found my home. I love it here.

June 14th: Really heating up. Got to 100 today. Not a problem. Live in an air- conditioned home, drive an air-conditioned car. What a pleasure to see the sun everyday like this. I'm turning into a sun worshipper.

June 30th: Had the backyard landscaped with western plants today. Lots of cactus and rocks. What a breeze to maintain. No more mowing the lawn for me. Another scorcher today, but I love it here.

July 10th: The temperature hasn't been below 100 all week. How do people get used to this kind of heat? At least, it's kind of windy though. But getting used to the heat is taking longer than I expected.

July 15th: Fell asleep by the community pool. (Got 3rd degree burns over 60% of my body). Missed 3 days of work. What a dumb thing to do. I learned my lesson though. Got to respect the ol' sun in a climate like this.

July 20th: I missed Lomita (my cat) sneaking into the car when I left this morning. By the time I got to the hot car at noon, Lomita had died and swollen up to the size of a shopping bag, then popped like a water balloon. The car now smells like Kibbles and $hits. I learned my lesson though. No more pets in this heat. Good ol' Mr. Sun strikes again.

July 25th: The wind sucks. It feels like a giant freaking blow dryer! It's hot as hell. The home air-conditioner is on the fritz and the AC
repairman charged $200 just to drive by and tell me he needed to order parts.

July 30th: Been sleeping outside on the patio for 3 nights now, $225,000 house and I can't even go inside. Lomita is the lucky one. Why did I ever come here?

Aug. 4th: It's 115 degrees. Finally got the air-conditioner fixed today. It cost $500 and gets the temperature down to 85. I hate this stupid state.

Aug. 8th: If another wise a$$ cracks, 'Hot enough for you today?' I'm going to strangle him. D@mn heat. By the time I get to work, the radiator is boiling over, my clothes are soaking wet, and I smell like baked cat!

Aug. 9th: Tried to run some errands after work. Wore shorts, and when I sat on the seats in the car, I thought my a$$ was on fire. My skin melted to the seat. I lost 2 layers of flesh and all the hair on the back of my legs and a$$ . . . Now my car smells like burnt hair, fried a$$, and baked cat.

Aug 10th: The weather report might as well be a d@mn recording. Hot and sunny. Hot and sunny. Hot and sunny. It's been too hot to do $hit for 2 months and the weatherman says it might really warm up next week. Doesn't it ever rain in this d@mn state? Water rationing will be next, so my $1700 cactus will just dry up and blow over. Even the cactus can't live in this d@mn heat.

Aug. 14th: Welcome to HELL! Temperature got to 115 today. Cacti are dead. Forgot to crack the window and blew the d@mn windshield out of the car. The installer came to fix it and guess what he asked me? "Hot enough for you today?" My sister had to spend $1,500 to bail me out of jail. Freaking Arizona. What kind of a sick demented idiot would want to live here??

Will write later to let you know how the trial goes.

WELL IT HAS BEEN IN THE HIGH 90'S ALL WEEK AND WILL CONTINUE FOR ANOTHER WEEK. TODAYS HIGH 98. TOUGH ON OLD TELEPHONE MEN THAT WORK OUTSIDE ALL DAY. HAVENT DONE ANYTHING IN THE SHOP FOR TWO WEEKS NOW, WOOD WORKING OR SLICK WORKING AND NOOOOOOOOOOO DAMN WELDING.

willy, the bad part about that is that a buddy of mine moved from arizona to florida and he was saying the same thing about the humidity here, he lasted a total of 4 months before he moved back to arizona. said it was too damn hot and muggy

We had our summer a couple weeks ago in Seattle. 2-3 days in the 90's. It's been dropping ever since. Fall actually feels like it's in the air and it hasn't reached 80 since.

Yeah Garbz I m trying to tell you something, Its friggin hot here in Tennessee. I totally understand about the part of moving back to Az. I was born in memphis, moved to Az as a kid and then back to Tennessee. And to top it off in the middle of no where. If tennessee is the anus of the united states then where I live is the infected zit on the anus of the united states. These idiots make the duke boys look like the upper crust of society. I can't figure out how its possible for some of these to reproduce and don't really want to either. Here in TN imagine jumping in the middle of a frying pot and having someone to put water in and boil you. It makes you feel like steamed veggies. I remember the humidiy in Memphis as a kid and then the dry heat in Az then coming back to this sewer pit called middle TN. So I guess what I am saying Garbz its friggin hot here in south.

Hey willy sounds similarto an old snow joke we have up here about moving from the city to ski country in ontario. orsnow belt as we canadians call it EH.

It was a balmy 32 driving to work yesterday morning here in the Great White North Rocky Mountains. ....time to cover up the tomatoes at night, Jack Frost is just around the corner

Hey it's always Hot here in the BiKiNi State, that's probably why there are so many BiKiNis around here

But HOT & HUMID as it may get here, it's Much Much HOTTER & MORE HUMID elsewhere in the lower 48.

Having toured the contiguous 48 in my "Large Car" a time or two, I'll take a thermometer reading here of + 100 F before I would anyplace else.

I was in East St Louis Ill once & it was +104 @ 112 heat index, my loaded rig sank in the asphalt at the truck stop there. . . . mind boggling

Protect yourselves! I'd tell ya we Crackers & "Lone Star Boyz" are quite familiar with this, but I know a lot of folks are hurting in the nation here's a good tip on hydration for you to follow. . . . :
Water- Water- Water, an equal gatorade, Water- Water- Water- see the 3:1 ratio? Water dilutes your electrolyte balance over time & gatorade restores the ratio to help prevent heat stroke or heat induced weakness & other problems that sre a result of heat stress.

Hot you want Hot I grew up in Fla. That place is nothing compared to good ol'e Kenfuky High 90's all week with heat indexes from 105 and up ( WTF? is a heat index ) if its 120 in the shade dont tell me its 98 and then tell me its 120 in the shade just be straight about it and tell me its 120 in the shade . Only thing worse is the winte ( well its 20 degrees today but with the wind chill it feels like its 15 below zero why cant they just give you the truth from the start ROFLMAO . Still like it here better though My spanish sucks .

I can relate to Comet, I live south of him and I think the 6-7 days we had in the low 100's and high 90's was our summer. Say what you want about rain in the Northwest, I LOVE the 4 seasons.

Oh, I love the 4 seasons too! But I wish we had 9 months of spring/summer and 3 months of fall/winter instead of the other way around.

about a week ago we set another record 116 I think?? To damn hot to do anything but sit on your ass.

Hey folks, for the last couple of month, I've had to work real hard at staying warm - instead of hot!!! Temperature has ranged from 98-100 w/heat indexes from 103-105. Not good for man or beast.

By the way, I finally made the transition to the new site, and posted a couple of photos in my gallery. Is there any plans to make the photos viewable as a group like at the other site, or will we have to go to the indivual member's gallery to view them?

By now, most of you probably know that my 64 F100 has a couple of garage mates - a 55 Customline and a 51 Custom Deluxe. It keeps me busy keeping them in street condition.
