Proportioning Valve Bracket

Putting a dual reservior M/C on the '66 and I've been trying to figure out a good place to put the prop. valve. Then I seen a pic in a magazine of a GM with a bracket on the M/C and the valve was bolted to the bracket and it sat under the M/C. Thought this would make a cleaner looking install. Anyway, I made up a cardboard pattern to mock it up. I'd like to keep the valve positioned so that the front M/C connection is underneath the front of the M/C instead of the back. And I considered putting the valve under the bracket instead of on top but I think it would work better on top. Whadda ya think.

I mounted my valve without a bracket. The lines hold it in place plenty rigid. Plus I figure not having a bracket allows a little extra flex, which can't be a bad thing.
It works and looks slick.

Most prop valves I have seen on Fords have been on the side of the frame rail. It will keep the firewall looking cleaner too.

I made a bracket and mounted the prop valve under the m/c like you're proposing. I coiled each brake line like the factory, but it looks like a mess with 3 coils of brake line going to the valve. I'm thinking to move the valve down to the cross member like I've seen on later trucks. Also, I'm wondering if it's really necessary to coil the brake line next to the m/c.

Is there any other post you guys know of that shows prop valve set ups? I have the original prop valve from the 75 f100 disc setup i put on my 65, but i am thinking about going with the pictured willwood double input prop that is pictured, it would be nice to see how other guys have set it up

If I remember correctly.........a 78 F150 valve has 2 studs sticking out of it for mounting. I can go dig one up if neccessary.
