Source for hood hinges that last?

Mine are shot and I'd like to replace them. My hood sticks up in the rear. I've heard that new ones aren't good quality.

Mine were shot so I bought a set of replacements from a well known supplier of aftermarket parts. I wound up using my old ones after trying and failing to adjust the hood using the replacements. If you want the replacement hinges I have, (I wont use them) send me a PM and we can discuss.

before i changed my hood it was sticking up in the back, i put a couple flat washers between the hood and the hinge on the front bolt and it took care of that. i did not need them with the new hood.

Hood up in the back is usually not bad hinges, it is usually bad adjustment. Although it is counter-intuitive, loosen the hinges and lift the hood as far up and back as you can and then tighten the hinges. I think you will see the back sink down. Watch carefully to make sur you don't hit the cowl but otherwise this is usually the problem. The hinges actually over center and pull the back of the hood down and if the hinges are rotated forward this does not happen and the back stays up. Hawkrod

Mine are shot when the hood blew up on the hiway, a friend was borrowing it... I've heard you can heat the pins and pound on them to tighten them up. I have a couple of sets that I'm going to decide which is best.

Loosen all the hinge bolts on hood and cowl? Then force hood wide open and back toward windshield. Tighten.
