I bought some vent glass rubber for my 64 F100 from Carpenter. The rubber does not seem to cover the gap. (its too slim) Has anyone else had trouble with them?
Any hints on what to do? Is there someplace better to purchase the vent rubber? Thanks.

I am glad you posted this because at the end of September I plan to buy all new door rubbers and window rattler kits from Carpenter. I'd appreciate any information on this too! I am hoping to make the inside of my cab very quiet and right now the window and howling blows through every window and around the doors and vent glass.

It's been 20 years since I had all the side windows cut with laminated glass. I think I paid about $27 for the door window and $8 for the vent. That was in the green tint, maximium tint allowed here for a drivers window. I was going to price out getting some more done for Jinx.
The back glass has to be tempered, that's why I didn't have anything done with it.

You can have the glass cut then tempered, the last piece I had tempered was in the last 2 years, and it was a little bigger than a vent window. It cost about $50, don't know if the prices are cheaper in the US or not.

Clarification on Dennis-Carpenter.com's vent rubber fit:
Just rebuilt both of my doors using all D-C.com products. I had a similar concern initially, until noticing that a previous owner had hooked one of the door mirrors. This accident "springs" the gap near the vent window - a little wider than factory. D-C.com's rubber appears as though it's making trouble, but it turned out my truck was putting up the fight, not the rubber product.
